The 1-min silence in Big City

I think I saw a thread regarding this issue back in December when HNR II was released, but in retrospect this looks even more weird.

It was his final full-length album, last track.

I don't think this was a mistake, but is there a reasonable explanation why they did this?

It would be weird if it was a minutes silence at the end of the last track on his last album.

However, it's not 1 minute, it's not even 57 seconds (his age), it's about 46 seconds long. I can't find any deep meaning to that one.

the song is followed by a minute long46 sec (according to jaawwnn) silence.

When I first listened to Phase Two I thought there must be a hidden track, maybe a short reprise/snippet of something hidden at the end (just like TRC) but there was nothing.

seriously though, i just went and checked. I'm kinda disappointed it's not a minute, do you think there might still be some meaning he was getting at?

Seems more like a quality control mistake. Is it like this on Tidal?

I have no idea, it's probably nothing but if this was a mistake don't you think it should've been fixed in the retail release?

I just got my copy from amazon, and it's still there. That's why I thought it was strange.

Does anyone know the history of this song?

I can't put my finger on it, but it sounds like it could be a really old song, remade with his new band... Like Xtralovable. Maybe a very early, late 70s track?

Maybe he had the silence so that the disc would be exactly a certain duration? He's done it before. What is the full running time of the album?

Just checked and mine comes to 58 mins exactly. I guess that 1 second goes either way depending on the player.

He was in his 58th year (i.e. he was 57)...

but he also didn't acknowledge age so I dunno.

Y'all are overanalyzing this. It's just a bonus track -- the extended mix of track 4 on Rave Un2.

The new master.

I prefer the original.
