Forgive me for not mentioning people by screenname in this thread as I am newer to copying and pasting etc on a 2nd page and trying to remember what I want to say here.

- someone here mentioned the religion/spirituality and sex thing regarding P. My thoughts have been that he went from one extreme to the other, perhaps out of guilt (probably needless guilt). Religion can be harsh sometimes like that when the truth is our sexuality is nothing to be ashamed about; its God-given and to be appreciated - and respected. As long as 2 people's Higher Power is truly ok with what they're doing, God's blessing is on it. I don't want to judge anyone else's sex life either. Therefore, who am I to know that his (perhaps) previously insatiable appetite (?) becoming totally barren wasn't right for him? He talks about fasting with food in a similar way I find interesting and am open-minded to whereas before I wouldn't have been.

I just don't have all the answers.

There is a difference between religion and spirituality. The former is a creed and the other is something else, although spirituality is inclusive of parts of many religions.

I also had a spiritual awakening (not the "boom" kind but a slow change of heart and mind over many months). It can't be explained but I can say that it's a complete change of feelings, thinking, attitudes, behavior, and more. We enter a world where we are still in the world but not of it, as someone else here alluded to. And when we're close to the Higher Power, nothing can touch us. Imagine that! All the little things just don't bother us anymore. We are safe.

I believe P felt that the one thing more important than sharing his music with us was that we know the Love of God and that we Love each other, which is what most of his music was about, and he did it in the way he felt was right. We watched him grow to a very altruistic place over the years. Like anyone on a spiritual journey he sought, floundered, sought more, fell, kept getting up, made human mistakes and ultimately reached a spiritually mature place where his thoughts were about who he could help.

If more people gave that kind of effort this world would be a much different place.

Thanks for sharing - i believe that too - its there in the music, the old love4oneanother website etc.
