Oh--the live albums that could be released! I'd like to see one live album from each tour released (maybe with accompanying video set?). (So many different bands, arrangements, vibes, etc.)
A few ways they could do this...
1. They could select the best show from each tour 2. Make a tour album comprised of the most interesting/unique performances from each show to make one SUPER album from that tour 3. Release every single show (like Pearl Jam or Phish or lots of other modern bands do)
Curating a collection like this would be a DREAM JOB for me. Where can I send my resume?

On this topic...
For longtime fans that have deep knowledge of Prince's tours...
Which tour/band would you say featured the most jamming/improvisation? Thanks!
Oh--and I know the obvious answer here is AFTER SHOWS--but I'm wondering in terms of proper concerts... [Edited 5/11/16 8:55am]

Where can I send my resume? re point 3, I just posted a similar thing in the thread about which 5 shows you would like to see on CD/ DVD - I was thinking of Gov't Mule who record and release EVERY show.. Such a shame Prince did not choose to do that.... This is not an exit

Hey I saw your similar post after I did mine. Oh well--we're on the same page.
I would be surprised if he didn't record all live shows. Releasing them is another matter...
Question--for someone that was so BRILLIANT in concert--how come he never released a proper widely-released live album?
I've always been so curious about that!

I've always been so curious about that! totally agree - It is something that has mystified me for years. I hate to obtain bootlegs that are against the artist's wishes, but he was sitting on some amazing recordings that just deserved to be heard! This is not an exit

There should be a book that gets into all his shows, aftershows, tour memorabilia, setlists and stories from fans who were at the show, band members, crew, etc, all the outfits and stage designs, behind the scenes stories, rehearsals, etc.

I love this idea too! Bands (with obsessive fans) like Phish and the GD have books like this. (Um--without the discussion of 'outfits' though)

To me the "scrapbooks" are a labor of love, something people love to be able to have as a reference and memories of the shows they were at - or wish they could have been at. I'm sure there's tons of professional photos in the Vault that will eventually be released to the public.
