Q Magazine - Prince Buyers Guide Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the new issue of Q magazine has a two page 'buyers guide' to Prince's albums (they have this feature on a different artist each month).
The are categorised roughly as follows: Essential: - SOTT - Purple Rain (no surpise there) Excellent: - Parade - ATWIAD - Diamonds & Pearls Good: - 1999 ('overrated' !) - Prince - Controversy Approach with caution: - Lovesexy ('rushed' !) - The Black Album - Symbol - Batman For collectors only: - Come Essential Compilation: - The Hits / The B-Sides No mention at all of Gold Experience, Crystal Ball, Emancipation, Rave, TRC. Hmm. Didn't expect miracles from Q Magazine, but rating D&P over 1999 & Lovesexy??? ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Putting both 'Around The World In A Day' and 'Diamonds & Pearls' in the 'excellent' category is a strange choice. Also, I'm surprised that both 'Prince' and 'Controversy' were classed in 'good' as opposed to 'for collectors only.' | |

Q should stick to what they do best; write funny comments
to go with their pictures. Beyond that, Q has turned into a shadow of it's former self since about halfway thru the 90's. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
