The Silver Lining

To the dark cloud.

If there's one good thing that's come out of this situation it's the absolute flood of stuff coming out. So much of it I'd never heard before or even heard about. I think it's a good thing that the floodgates have opened and so much awesome stuff is freely available now. I know some people here say it's tasteless an that it's not what he wouldn't wanted, but he's not here anymore to allow it bother him and he left us vast amount of gifts in the wake of his death.

I'm all for this stuff coming out and being posted. It makes me appreciate him even more and also helps keep him alive in a big way. It'll take me the rest of MY life to absord all this man created. I've only scratched the surface here and think it's a wonderful parting gift. I'd rather this stuff went up on YouTube and stuff than some greedy asshole capitalizing on it.

"Music should be free", Pricne said once, and now it is. I'm astonished at how much stuff is out there and I was a huge collector. Now I get to hear it all. I still get sad listening to it sometimes but I really dig the goosebumps I get watching and listening to some of this stuff.

I honestly think this is exactly how he wanted it. Granted, the estate needs to make money if we want Paisley Park to be a thing. It's his legacy and he wanted it to happen. Or he NEVER would have kept all that stuff.

I'd pay 300.00, maybe more to get in if it means it's THE only place to get certain stuff. And it's included in the ticket price. Like everyone that visits gets a box of "vault material" maybe a tshirt, a Symbol chain. Books... It could change every year and make it somewhere people can go to pay their respects to his genius. I think there is a solid Purple Army that we as fams can really keep him around for generations.

The first Paisley box would contain CD versions of remasters and B-sides, remixes. I'd love to upgrade my collection and tour the park as tribute.

You have to sign something that you won't put it online. The music and videos that were released is free on the web or can be subscribed to, if you want the good stuff, come to the Park. Maybe they can build some small hotels in the area. Make it part of a MPLS tour. There's a lot of cool stuff there.

There could be a park and ride to eliminate the parking issue. Prince's Purple Bus. Tight security because it's scheduled super efficiently.

It could all work if done right.

Oh yeah SOLAR PANELS !!! The charity he gave to could put them on as tribute. That would eliminate that bill and provide energy to the grid.

There would also have to be like the best dance party every... Going like nonstop. I just got down to a live version of Song of the Heart. Feel like I got my church on. ;)

It could be an awesome play ground for adults. I can't go to the clubs anymore. All that soulless "dance" "music"... Boo.

Nobody gets
Me to move my hips like
LeGrind

I bought it 22 years ago when it was officially released, replacing my bootleg copy that I'd had for 5 years before that.

What else?

I thought you didn't know the song the poster before you was referencing. They said "nothing gets my hips moving like LeGrind" and you said "like what?" so i though you didn't know the song or something.

I see. No, I was wanting to know what has come through the floodgates. I've not heard of anything other than a few rare video clips.

YouTube has exploded. Full live concerts I've never seen.

I totally agree, last night for example, I watched a few different live versions of "Head" that were filmed during some of his early concerts, and which I had never seen before. Not sure if that had previously been available, but in any case, it was so cool to be able to just click on it (after someone on here very kindly mentioned it) and enjoy a stunning performance of it.

99.9% of them had all been previously available, just not on streaming websites.

At least from what I've seen so far.

I think they meant me. Just go to youtube or google "Prince live". There's stuff everywhere. It may have been available before but I'd never seen a lot of it.
