Upset if no Billboard Awards tributes?

I have not heard anything about any Prince related performances for the upcoming Billboard Awards. With this the first post-death award show I was hoping for something big. But really out of all the listed performers, only Celine Dion could really pull one off. Will she? Maybe sing Adore or Nothing Compares 2 U?

There absolutely will be some sort of tribute, that's 100% my opinion with no inside knowledge. Still almost a couple weeks before the airing, and usually they try to keep something like this under wraps.

Personally I'd like to see Morris, Sheila and maybe Lenny involved in most of the tributes. Nobody else.

Celine Dion shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a Prince song

Funny, because Prince wrote "With This Tear" specifically for her to sing. But I get what you're saying - I wouldn't want another Lady GaGa/David Bowie tribute (even though I liked most of that).

I think if they do actually have a tribute, it should be a video montage.

But, I fully expect a tribute at the Grammys and at the Oscars.

Agree. Billboard has been all over Prince since his passing... there's no way they don't do a tribute.

This is how I feel. Any and all tributes should be done by The Time, The Revolution, The Family, Shelia E and Stevie and Lenny for good measure.

Everyone else can have several seats.

Personally, I'm not going to be watching, so whatever tributes they will have, I'll have to catch later on...but yeah, someone is definitely going to do a tribute.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

A Billboard Awards tribute to Prince featuring a bunch of tween artists who barely know who he is, probably given some lyrics to learn a day or two prior to the show for the songs "Purple Rain", "Little Red Corvette" and "When Doves Cry" so they can come out on stage an butcher them into little pieces? I think I'll pass. If there will be a tribute, they need to leave it to Prince's contemporaries. Not who's hot on the charts right now.

Bill board is kinda dirty. Prince even said their awards were for sale (the whole Gaga thing) so i'd imagine they aren't interested in tipping their hats to him. I actually don't want any tributes. Prince was far enough in his career and was spectacular that tributes should have happened when he was alive.

I'd be okay with it if they show a montage of everything he has achieved and then someone, an artist he actually admired, did a strip down version of one of his songs (Purple Rain or Sometimes it Snows in April). Something similar to the Brits tribute, and please I don't want to see anyone trying to imitate him like Lady Gaga did with Bowie.

I am not thrilled about Madonna doing it. They have had a pretty rock relationship for the past 20 years and she slagged him off royally (no pun intended) when he asked for help in the 90s to take on Warners. I think she even made fun of him.

I didn't like how she eulogized MJ at that one Award show-and I am not a huge MJ fan- and I don't like her doing the same for P now. I think they have asked her because she is the only one of the pop titans still living that was born in 1958. Still, Madonna has a genius for making everything about her. She better not do it this time.

Also, D'Angelo should be involved in every P tribute, since he is the living artist that sounds most like him.

For the Grammy tribute-the Revolution and Sheila E should be the house band and Morris and the Time and D'Angelo should be involved. Questlove better stay his ass off that stage.

Really? How about Tina Turner (did cover of "Let's Pretend We're Married"), Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Cyndi Lauper (did cover of "When You Were Mine"), Chaka Khan ("I Feel For You"), Patti LaBelle, Springstein (he just did a P song in concert as a tribute), D'Angelo (wow - that "Sometimes It Snows in April" he just did was perfect!), even Beyonce doing "The Beautiful Ones" that recently won rave reviews; and a reunion of sorts with all Revolution, NPG, and 3rdEyeGirl players would be nice...

I have no problem with Madonna paying homage to Prince. She did work with Prince and more than likely know the rigors of the superstardom. Prince experienced that some of us take for granted.I hope Questlove has nothing to do with this Billboard Music Award show tribute. I cannot stand that entitled twat. He makes everything about himself when it comes to Prince, even had the nerve to throw shade on Twitter towards Prince's family for cremating Prince so quickly and having a private memorial with a handful of loved ones. I really got no problem with today's artists singing his songs in tribute to Prince at Billboard because his reach as a recording artist and live performer went beyond funk, r&b and rock audiences. Prince's appeal to people who buy pop music on an on-going basis is what made 1999, Purple Rain, Batman album and Diamonds And Pearls so important. His charisma, appearance and talent helped contributed to the success of the music industry including Billboard.

You heard me. I don't want that caterwauling Bouncy anywhere near P's legacy. That girl takes a whole committee to write a song and cosign on Questlove and his big ass mouth being shut out too.

I understand people's dislike for Madonna but she was one of the big pop stars of the 80s and imho was revolutionary in owning her sexuality when women were and continue to be sexualized, sadly the pop stars that have followed in her footsteps seemed to ignore this or don't understand the difference. As far as her music, I do wish she would have worked more with Nile Rodgers, they seemed to work really well together.
She seemed to have patch things up with Prince, that is if they ever had a real falling out and I'm sure Prince would be okay with this. Plus, it's only the Billboards, we still have the BET's and the official public memorial.

Her tribute (speech) to MJ was self-indulgent

This is going to be awful (if she's performing - she can't sing)
