Brother Jules owns Prince's Telecaster guitar?

.
Saw this posted earlier on, via Twitter but I think it's originally from Facebook.
.
Whilst we have no idea what P's wishes were, it seems really sad to me that important pieces of Prince's history are ending up in private hands in this way sad
.

Thought that guitar would have ended up in the proposed museum to be honest when people look at that guitar they think of that certain performance with Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty and all for the tribute to George Harrison.

My thoughts too... I don't know if you are able to see all the items listed in the link I've posted, one of them was this one:

"1959 Gibson L-Series Guitar Used by Prince to Compose & Record Early Demo Tracks -- Prince Was Famously Photographed With the Favorite Guitar in Early Promotions"

Thanks, I didn't know who he was. Happy for him I suppose, but sad for the Hohner. That's the first guitar a lot of people saw in P's hands, from the top of the Purple Rain film and preceded by lots of now-classic music videos. Should be in a museum. sad

1) Prince owned more than one Telecaster.

2) That Telecaster isn't the classic Hohner that Prince is playing in the picture from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance. The text on the headstock is different, as is the pattern on the pickguard.

Brother Jules may own one of Prince's Telecasters, but it ain't the classic Hohner.

That is NOT Prince's guitar. What he has is a Harley Benton knock off. Check this link http://www.strat-talk.com...es.269342/

Yeah, that ain't the one he had at the RNRHOF ceremony. You can look at the animal pattern on it and see it's different.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yep. This.

Thank God!
If everything got sold off, what would there be to put in the PP Museum?
THANK YOU for the clarification.
I would strongly dislike seeing his personal belongings scattered out all over the globe.
Then again, maybe where he is now, he would want that (?) Nah, I don't think so.

--- This was put up for sale by Owen Hunsey's before Prince passed. I think he may have given some things to some people and they are now trying to cash in. We also know he had a lot of duplicates and replicated he sold out of his stores so let's not assume all of the stuff as been stolen.

calm down people,

it idd isn't the real hohner, in fact Brother Jules doesn't own a thing.

it's a project i did. Bought a harley benton & bought a seperate pickguard, uploaded a picture on facebook for my friends and a couple hour laters that guy posted it on his page like it's his :s i don't get it.

here's another pic, but in a bit higher resolution & without the RRHOF pic next to it, something "Brother jules" can't provide.

1) I could already see this from the auction webpage, but thanks for clarifying it for other orgers (I had assumed most people on here were already aware of that auction anyway) smile
2) It never crossed my mind that the stuff had been "stolen" nor did I imply it.
3) Following the OP's mindset I was raising my own concern that (maybe) some important items from Prince's career might not be able to make their way to the museum.

Anyone who legally owned something once used/owned by Prince before his death could sell it at any time without any type of impediment. However, once he died, everything he owned at that moment went into lockdown until the heirs could be determined. I am so glad there are people here who can recognize fakes now coming onto the market.

weird. would the post be to make his release of the remix experience seem more official?

there is a thread on that topic as well although i can't find it right now. it's all quite fishy.

Yes, I was curious about the Remix Experience having NPG Records 2016 on... and now this guitar thing - it seems fishy indeed.

Sounds like Brother Jules is a bit of a scumbag.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
