the whole 1st part of the show is, dare I say it, all set up for BROWN SKIN! It starts from Come Together when he starts singing lines to Shhh From Shhh is the amazing seque into Baby Love where he stops suddenly so you're left wondering where hi gonna take you and then BOOM the guitar playing on BROWN SKIN is the highlight of the first part of the show He then starts the second part of show with Stratus which is a great interlude before... going into a spot on Mic Jagger impression that will make everyone in the org smile

Honky Tonk Woman could be the first time I've ever liked Shelby's voice Boy she really screamsings the mic on the intro to this one nicely I like it better when he covers the song on guitar but the horns and piano are nice a nice change

but unfortunately he has Liv Warfield on When Will We Be Paid Prince does a gospel version of this song and it's a crying shame His studio version of this song is in my opinion one of his best in the past 10 years but here he features Liz Warfield on vocals and it just doesn't do it for me... this would be the time in the show where I would go to the bathroom if you know what I'm saying

then he asks what the crowd whats they would like and everyone pretty much replies they want rock n roll so then he does a rock n roll cover (it sounds familiar, I'm pretty sure it's a cover) of a song called The Middle (according to the liner notes)... please someone help me here I don't know if that's the real name of the song but it sure sounds familiar he stamps his guitar on it towards the end but this song doesn't grab me so much and I think Prince feels the same way because he cuts it off (on the 1!) and starts playing the Coachella intro to the Bird he says Morris' name as if he is there but it's actually Prince on the vocals

and that's my review for y'all... Can't wait to read your comments... Thanks for reading!!

The stage set up was bare bones. It also seemed like Prince wasnt really into it as it was not a big turn out. Hell, people were tired as it was announced in the afternoon and people were waiing in line from around 4 to 1 a.m. when they began to let us in. It was like being performed at the local Y for real. He wanted sbacon to come up and sing Glamorous Life but she was too shy so he took over and sang the verses. He made mention of a song (Ol Skool Company?) being played at "houseparties" alluding to the recent house party where he invited some fans to being in the audience. Though it was a cool show it felt like it was under advertised (it was). He didnt come out for an encore even though we screamed for him to. To no avail.

Oh that's too bad... Thank you so much for adding the 'ambience'... I wish I was there I live in Hollywood but somehow missed the afternoon announcement

The Capital Records building is right across the street. It was a real strange place for a concert . I thnk there were issues securing the House Of Blues that night.

Yeah Cece pretty much nailed Sssh that night. Much better than the Coachella performance. The audio could use a little tweaking, but it sounds great for an audience recording. And the performance was..wow, just wow.

I don't remember reading that Prince covered The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, and it's kinda freaking me out. It actually sounds fantastic! Can't wait to give this show a proper listen. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."
