Your favourite Prince ballads in later years...

I'd always be one for listening to the funk and rock first over his ballads. Ballads last, or just had to be in the mood wink But there are some strong ballads in say the last 10/15 years. His voice held up just fine.

'Call My Name', 'Somewhere Here On Earth', 'The Breakdown', 'Te Amo Corazon', 'This Could Be Us and 'That Girl Thang', I'd put these right up there.

.

What are some of your favourites?

Call My Name is perfection. Forget the 'later years.' It's one of his best ever, any years.

Better With Time brought me back to Princeland when I heard it on the radio...

Call My Name!

I just can't stop writing songs about you

I love you so much

I just can't wait to get my arms around you

To feel your touch

If I don't see you real soon, baby girl I might go insane

I know it's only been 3 hours

But I love it when you call my name

This song is such a beautiful thing, but one thing i do not like at all is the ending the spoken part.

To be honest, there are very few Prince ballads from any era that I don't like. But a few of the recent standouts:

Somewhere Here On Earth (Planet Earth)

U're Gonna See Me (MplSound - but I like ONA Piano even better)

Future Soul Song (20TEN)
The Breakdown (Art Offficial Age)

This Could Be Us (Art Official Age)

Way Back Home (Art Official Age)

Time (Art Official Age)

1000 X's & O's (HITNRUN Phase One)

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
