Temporarily (?) reverting back to Shamelessmaya's recounting of her time with Prince, I found a snazzy photo of Prince wearing the wedge, thong platform flip-flops with white "pantyhose"! lol lol lol Maybe not a new one to most, but not one I'd seen before...

AAAAAw Thanks, I've never seen this one...

He was certainky sexy, alpha, gifted etc but it was his IQ...his articulate speech, the way you could see the wheels of his mind always in motion that makes me wish I could have had conersations with him....I wanted him for his BRAIN lol (really am I in a minority on this one?)

Nah- you're not the minority. I never would have had relations with him, at least that's not my thing, suppose he could have persuaded me. A-hem... But I was totally into a lot of stuff he talked about and wish I had had a real convo with him. Would have loved to have talked sprituality and "conspiracy theories". He always seemed so interesting.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

I definitely agree, one silver lining to shittiness of the past two weeks has been the chance to hear these incredible stories from past associates, and I think it would be great to have a thread that collects them all together. I really enjoyed the interview John Blackwell gave to a radio station, he had some fantastic stories, does anyone know if that's online? I've got an offline copy but I realise that's not that helpful sad

Was that the one where John Blackwell told the story of when Prince got him a lettuce Subway sandwich? lol Think this might be it? http://www.theboneonline....ll/vDqh5W/ [Edited 5/10/16 14:18pm]

Yeah that's the one, thanks a lot, that made me laugh at such a sad time. I hope there are more funny anecdotes like that, and I'd love to hear from other great bandmates like Sonny T and Michael Bland about their musical relationship with Prince.

Wow that was incredible boring. I skipped around through it and nothing really ever happened that I heard. He never spoke to Prince and only walked by him on a staircase.

There's an interesting article that showed up online from a blogger that Prince apparently either hired or invited to write over the course of about a year and a half. It's an excerpt from a book that's upcoming, from what I can tell...? This is cool as it talks about Prince's last night before he died https://docs.google.com/d...zCALaM/pub

Tried this and said "not found" - is it my computer?operator error? or has it been deleted?

The John Blackwell interview was hilarious. I almost fell over laughing when he spoke about them going to Subway. He really valued his time with P...John was treated very well.

Is that on YouTube? I would value something that Blackwell had to say.

This bimbo was a train wreck on that Live Yahoo thing and obviously knew nothing about Prince. She ruined it. I have no respect for pretty young chicks that get jobs that are not qualified for just because they are pretty or stylish. This plagued Prince's later productions - especially that AOA and HNR1

No clue. I saw the link on a group in facebook, no real details. Can't find anything about an upcoming book with the name on amazon or anything either.

That litte excerpt, if legit, is one of the most interesting and most personal Prince related texts I´ve read in a long time....especially the part about him opening up about his grieving process and how the Rainbow Children was his eulogy for his son.

And those eerie hints of him wanting to teach his son how to play basketball and how he says it in the present tense, or how he admits that he started believing in time again.

It´s strange that this has not been discussed on this website before.

This does not look like the biography he talked about but like a whole different book.

Sounds very interesting so far.

I can't access it so I haven't read it, but he would actually expect to have Amir back in future. It was an important part of his beliefs as a JW. The resurrection of the dead to everlasting life here on earth in a paradise. He would also be expecting to get the little girl back that they lost before she was born. I'm guessing the song Be My Mirror is to her? And his hope for himself now that he died would be the same. Resurrection here on earth.

Not wanting to turn this into a discussion of the rights or wrongs of this hope (please, pretty please), just saying it was what he believed in so not strange at all for him to be looking forward to teaching Amir about basketball. biggrin

I have a little boy or girl that I am myself waiting to get to know. To me and to him this is perfectly natural and not strange at all. biggrin
