I don't think they will come out. Most probably they'll be stopped by the estate asap.

You may be right about them getting cancelled, but my understanding is that these radio broadcast CDs can't be stopped. There are loads of them, even by artists known to be very protective of their catalogue like Tom Waits. I believe it is based on FM broadcasts which can legally be released in Europe. I've bought a few, with very mixed sound quality. I'd think Prince ones would be better as they will be later recordings than, say, 60s Dylan or 70s Waits/Springsteen.
If you were thinking about it though, it's maybe worth holding off - they tend to get bundled together after a few months for about the same price as a single release. If you feel iffy giving your money for such 'grey' releases, it might ease your conscience a little. |

There are several ways lawyers can go at blocking releases. They could target the unauthorised use of photograps, names, etc (they've just pushed through a legislation in Minnesota that will help Prince's estate). I believe these will be stopped before the planned release dates.

There's lots of Sprinsgteen available. In fact there's tons of every classic rock artist. I think there's some inequitable loophole that lets parasites invade |

If there was a legal loophole to release these Prince recordings then these would've came out long ago. They haven't - most probably because they feared lawsuits from Prince. If the estate is just as serious about protecting their rights as Prince was, they will do everything to stop these releases.

Springsteen (now like so many artists, thank you GD and Phish) releases a TON of legally released live material online -- http://nugs.net/

Yup, I just bought a CD of a March concert and the sound quality is excellent. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I'll probably find a rip of these and download them there but it's insulting that they announced a rake of these just days after his death. No way in hell will I be purchasing them.

Well yeah, my hunch is that he couldn't legally stop them but he could cause all sorts of legal problems for a hell of a long time that no one but him could afford to keep going.
