Hi everyone, MOD's please move if this is in wrong topic area..

I'm still finiding it very difficult dealing with the loss of Prince, and finding ways on trying to deal with it productively. Other than focusing on my music school and upcoming shows for my students - I've decided to get my guitar building skills out again and build myself a cloud. I used to own one of the NPG clouds years ago, and foolishly sold it as family was expanding. I would love the cloud sitting in my studio reminding me of all the good times and memories, and to push my inspiration on life!

Does anyone have any experience they can share doing similar? What would your colour preference be if you were to do such a project? I'm thinking of the 'blue angel'.

Would love to hear/see your thoughts and post my results when I have it complete

Love the idea of the blue angel.

Good to do that - I am learning guitar too. I just picked one up on the night of 21st April and knew it had to be mine. It is. . and thanks to Prince. I will learn and never be as good as him but never would of even done this if....

Just makes me feel close to him.

Thanks Strawberry and congratulations in picking the guitar up. Prince was my inspiration to all things music back when I waas 9 and never looked back! Good luck with the learning, its an amazing experience and having P to inspire you will just make it so much more purple x

If you own any clouds (or even symbol's) - I would love to see your pics! It just takes me back and puts a smile on my face

Purple is also another colour I was thinking - between ivory white, purple or blue angel Arggh cant decide...! I have my templates arriving soon - I may post up progress as it goes along..

Where are you getting specs (material, measurements, pickups, etc) from for the build? I've wanted to have a cloud built for the longest time

PhukdNtheHead - Im waiting for my routing/building template I got from eBay. Im gonna use this to get started on the body. That should have all the measurements (or as close as possible anyway). As for what specs for components - I'm going to use Prince's specs ie EMG pickups etc. There is a site online somewhere which has his exact spec.

I think I will add a symbol somewhere too, just considering where at the moment. And PurpleThunder, thank you for your words - its great to find a way to channel the energy and Im looking forward in sharing my progress for who ever is interested
