Thank you for sharing. She's so down to earth. Was nice to watch. Prince has worked with so many talented people throughout his career. He lived an eventful and fulfilling life.

Oddly she continues to refer to Prince as if he's still alive. Not that it means anything more than how she's feeling at the moment. She's clearly feeling like self promoting. I'd think twice about hiring since she clearly demonstrates she violated trust by shooting footage against policy, refusing to delete material as directed, then secretly keeping copies. And now bragging. I think our previous criticism was earned. She's a dilettante - she boastfully dabbles in others professions and passions. She's not a committed art director or journalist and it shows. Don't pretend you are a music head. If you accept the challenge of being a reporter, do your research - "Lovesex that's my jam". Clearly it isn't and you aren't authentic. Stop thinking you're being picked on, let's talk about your choices? We all have friends and relatives who pass on, and we all have moved our homes while working and taking care of our families. Think of all the more qualified people who could have brought value to that moment. You chose to accept the challenge, under qualified and unprepared, and the audience and industry graded you. You don't get an award for just showing up. Kids today, jeez. . [Edited 5/8/16 6:37am]

Hearing how spontaneous and unrehearsed everything was for that event brings clarity to a lot and I have sympathy for her having to ad lib on no sleep to do it. Change it one more time..

Hearing about what it was like to work with Prince, and how he pushed her into work that she didn't even expect. She hung out with and worked with Prince, and more than that he felt comfortable around her (unlike many other employees) and would send her funny videos, point out things online on the level as a friend. That's good to hear! Plus AOA looked good! She did a good job if it was her behind the packaging.

Yeah, for me it was the constant (bug) eye rolling and self-interrupted/unfinished sentences that end in some sort of physical exclamation ("unf" or "wow"). She's just young, and that's how all young people are on social media. It's a tad affected, but her actual words were very heartfelt. Honestly, all young "social media personalities" have the same delivery. It's artificially self-effacing & goofy, yet narcisistically unembarrassed. Then there's the upwards inflections, which make every other sentence sound like a question? She seems genuine though. Well, her words did.

Im sure she and I are not very far in age. I mean i cant comepare she and i personality wise but the idea that all or most young people are a certain way or that those of us that heavily use social media tend to come off as vapid (for lack of a bebtter word) is really incorrect. i appreciated her excitementt and enthusiasm, but for me the presentation left a lot to be desired. understanding tthat it wasnt rehearsed explains a lot but that doesnt necessarily make it acceptable. i work in media as well so the idea of something presenting well vs not presenting well is pretty strong for me. I dont know that he gained any new fans that night, honestly, because even me being a hardcore long time fan i couldnt get thru it. hopefully its available somewhere online to revisit. But anyway, perhaps gaining new fans was not the point (though it being on friggin yahoo was certainly a great platform and possibly a missed opportunity). When its all said and done as long as he and whoever else produced this was happy and pleased thats all that ultimately matters. What did people think of her getting that close to Primce then admittedly disrespecting his wishes, to the point of not deleting material as directed then arguably stealing it and now boasting about it? Seems like an opportunist with no integrity to me. Presentation aside, her character seems hollow.

I so agree with you. I mean, to me it is kind of obvious WHY Prince seemed to have "second thoughts" about her and asked her to delete everything. But then thanks to her editing/photoshop skills, she was able to convince him to go against those insticts about her. But in my opinion, it is pretty obvious why she didn't work for him that long.
I'm sorry but I have problems with videos like this and another podcast I heard that I won't name out of respect that make their "tribute" to Prince ALL about THEM and Prince. I'm not saying there isn't real emotion there, but there is still something not as genuine or respectful. If you watch Kevin Smith's show about Prince, he mentions his "Prince story" in relation to he regrets telling it and wished he had apologized to Prince when he had the chance. He talks not about HIS time with Prince, but about Prince's time on this earth -- and not just about the time he got to spend with him, but how much Prince's GIFTS affected him personally. And the emotion he showed surprising even himself was more real than anything I saw in Maya, sorry.
This video and the other podcast I heard had a lot to do with how Prince helped them professionally, and while that's cool and awesome of him, it is just not as powerful to me, sorry. I like genuine tributes that have no other agenda than celebrating Prince.
I think nondisclosure agreements technically are null and void when one party dies, but if you truly cared for and/or respected the person, you would still honor the wishes of that agreement to not post stuff you were not supposed to post, especially footage of him. Sorry, it doesn't come across as "real," it comes across as posting that stuff now that you can without being sued to further your own career. [Edited 5/8/16 13:53pm]

[Edited 5/8/16 13:53pm] For me what's shocking isn't an NDA. She was directed, professionally to delete material while he was alive. If you're the sponsor (not just subject) of a photo shoot, you have the right to decide how that material is handled (e.g. imagine all the bad, eyes closed shots that happen). That material shouldn't exist. Many people have said he had an intuition about people. After her own words - I couldn't imagine letting her near a work laptop and office network. her boastfulness makes it seem like she won't be growing out of that kind of poor judgement any time soon. . Kevin Smith's also probably twice this chick's age, he's had over a decade to reflect on his experience with Prince and overall a bit wiser at this point. I really don't see why everybody's up on her ass, she seemed fine and like she was genuinely grieving. ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

plus the fact that he actually used the photo's that he said delete

I thought the video was interesting. I am curious about why Prince would have to feel the need to make someone feel like nothing to keep them at their best. Is that really necessary? Can you keep someone at their best without degrading them for not being up to par? "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I have no idea who she is or claims to be and i have only watched the clip until ca.8 mins in but i'm sensing B.S.Honestly, if she had worked "with" Prince AT ALL, at the very least i'm feeling she's totally blowing up her story.Just the little story how she met him for the first time in the hotel at the listening party but then saying oh wait, we actually met in his office (in L.A. ??) and talked FOR HOURS about spirituality - yeah sure..

Thats how I understood it. He asked her to delete stuff in a fit but then was apparently happy she didnt as ended up using the photos later.
Yes she's a bit of flake but unless the photos are fake, she def has some talent there. Not sure what was he thinking when he asked to host the Yahoo thing (clearly a mistake) but she's got a huge pair of balls and thats half the battle.
She's very pretty so I'm actually pleased that it seems she saw straight though Prince's "come up to Paisley and work for me" seduction strategy.

Sorry...but I really enjoyed this clip. Her stories were visual and made me feel like I was there. It's cool to hear these stories from younger people (who weren't big fans..or fans at all) that were in his presence. They looked at him through different eyes than any of us would have...She spoke well about him and stated she wanted to remember him in her own unedited way. She said he motivated her and she seems to be moving in the right direction. Great video clip.
