Stevie Wonder- Talking Book
James Brown -Licking Stick I read not too long ago that Tupac had met Prince a few times but I am not sure if he was a makaveli fan. Prince definitely liked Ice Cube cause he did a few remixes of his songs. Prince might have liked Billie Holiday since Mattie played her music around the house while he was growing up. We definitely know that Prince liked P-funk or else there would be no "Erotic City". I read somewhere not too long ago that Prince really did like EWF but didnt want Maurice White to produce his first album for some strange reason. Now this one is a little bit more unconventional than the 2pac one but Prince really dug Carlos Santana. Prince took a lot of influences from Santana and put them into his own work. Prince was a mariah fan as well. This is probably not a big surprise to anyone but Prince cited Jimi Hendrix as a major influence on his work. I am sorry that i couldnt be of more help but if i think of something else, i will let you know. [Edited 5/9/16 8:29am]

I found this story about a playlist written by Prince and posted in another thread: . http://prince.org/msg/7/424609 . The playlist was first posted by Steve Welch, the editor of New Girl. . https://www.facebook.com/swelchfmp . Steve's description: . "When Prince was on New Girl the storyline was that our characters got to attend a party at his house. To that end, he sent us a playlist of songs he would actually play at his parties. Here is that playlist, it's a good one:" . City in the Sky…The Staple Singers . .

It would be a great idea to compile a playlist maybe in the first post of songs from other artists we know Prince somehow acknowledged - maybe even a sticky would be nice?
I think we can also add songs that appeared during the livecasts in 2013 - surely the l8 nite radio, maybe also the Dudley D dj set? (the setlist are on princevault iirc
Also there was quite a handful of songs he posted links to on twitter - I recall for sure the Ana Moura song.
And the song Somewhere not here.

Cool playlist P had. Push Me Away is a great choice too, one of my favourite Jackson's tracks for sure. I think most of his favorite's have been listed, I know he liked Chaka and sung Sweet Thing at the Musicology MTV special. James of course, Sly, George, Stevie et AL are mentioned. I wonder if P liked any real obscure music that hasn't been listed. Maybe be liked Marc Bolan/T Rex as listening to some of Marc's music recently brought P to mind and some of the songs like Get it On I could imagine Prince sing plus Children of the Revolution among others too.

Amy Winehouse - Love is a Losing Game. It's a pity he never had a chance to work with her except that one time at the O2. I also wonder if he saw her documentary? Love is God,

Great list. Lost in Music by Sister Sledge has always been one of my favorite songs. The lyrics pretty much sum up P's perspective on music in his life.
