Someone mentioned to me the other day that someone could be withholding the will until the cause of death is determed and a Death certificate provided. They seem to think this is standard protocol. Thoughts?

Has there been any mention of the Bremner Trust of opening the Vault to see if there is a Will??

Do people not understand what probate is? There is an open and ongoing court case in process. Bremer Trust has to prepare a report for the presiding judge as temporary administrators. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Bremer Trust issued a statement regarding cancelling the theater gala scheduled at Paisley Park (courtesy of Star Tribune): "We regret that the untimely death of Prince has created a disruption for charitable events planned at Paisley Park. In order to protect Prince's legacy, particularly the legacy that remains at Paisley Park, we believe it is necessary to close the location to outside events at this time. In addition, valuing the estate's assets continues and opening up the property to more than 1,000 people is in direct conflict with the duty to protect and preserve the estate. We greatly appreciate everyone's understanding during this difficult time, and are working with the pre-planned charitable events to attempt to secure alternative locations and otherwise determine mutually agreeable ways for Prince's estate to have a positive impact on the affected charities."

LMAO. It's funny cuz it's true!
If it were me I would be writing that email address. Isn't this similar to the Little Red Corvette/YouTube case previously that Prince lost?

It's weird... I mean she may inherit a portion of his assets but this was a business entity. Can she just step in and run things, etc...

If the rumors were true, they were planning to digitize the vault a couple of years ago but Prince got cold feet and called it off.

Frankly, I'm glad there are some responsible adults in charge at the moment.

I doubt she's sat on a laptop while in court, scouring the internet for clips featuring Prince music. It'll be an automated bot. It's just odd that her name is now listed. Odd that she has an official email address already.

I understand it's not the first time Tyka works on the takedown front. She did it in the past as part of his Kopyright Kops unit.

These guys have a job to do. Stuff has to be opened and looked at. There's massive amounts of stuff these guys are going to have to sift through and decisions to be made whether some tenderhearted posters here like it or not.

Do YOU, dear reader, have a Will? RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

Good. Now that's settled. Glad that they relelased a statement, though, they didnt have to. And even better to see that they will be working with the charities in some way. Nor do i have specific wishes for things that should be die when i die. However, I certainly intend on drawing one up should I become a homeowner or gain some other kind of valuable assets in life. Personally I can understand why they cancelled the event. All those different people in Prince's home/studio, you cant really monitor everyone, things could go missing, people could take something for a keepsake, etc
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You're absolutely right. And then the refrain would be, oh how could they let all those people into Paisley when everything wasn't accounted yet, blah blah blah. Bremer knows what they're doing. Prince shoulda left a will. "Where you are now is in a place that does not require time." - Rest In Power, PRINCE

Yes, that is the part that I think is the weirdest... that she has an email address and is acting as the "face" of this activity.

Ok, read the article. They sound bratty. Yes, they are severly inconvienced, and have a right to be disappointed but things do have to be done properly even if it interfers with life's plan.. Heck it looks like another organization also had a planned event there and they aren't yelling about being the last group to honor Prince at PP. Saying it will never be forgiven is taking it a step too far. And I'm bored now.
