HitnRun Phase 2 - Second Coming ?

Based on Prince's passing, there is renewed interest in Phase 2, a very fine and underrated parting gem.

What single selection would you submit for radio airplay and promotion? I would put out "Stare", modern P with a wink to the past.

I also predict some posthumous Grammy noise, which will be sadly ironic. What do you think?

If I'm right about the mystical and knowing Prince the. For sure more of his purity will be shining through, I pray his music in the vault will get into the right hands. This loss is so tremendous in so many ways I feel The truth lover S of Prince and his music will prevail. Grammys awards specials evening a Broadway musical is so trivial right now our loss is so deep. My heart aches for no one in his entourage could be close enough to help him. I fear the reports the lies Or the truths that are coming into the airwaves. Did he become so genius he medicated himself? Or did corruption of medicine play a part. I fear foul play was involved although 'they' ruled it out. Like all great artists on our history some die tragically without knowing their worth or fame., Prince was loved by of us,
His award is is purity of musical genious that flowed through him. And that will live on I hope we find new ways to appreciate him, award him know what we always new.. MaGical spiritual beautiful soul.. That desires our love

It's actually in the top 40, Hits Daily Double even has it at 17 in the building chart.

Not sure this will continue for long, probably depends on pressing more CDs.

As for the other albums, stores received more stock this week and they are expecting a bit of a spike.

Dont mean to sound nasty, but ´Stare´sounds like an outtake from 96-98. ´Baltimore´ would be best

I liked it at first but there's just an undeniable dullness about the album. The funk is stiff in an Emanicpation sort of way (despite being real instruments). A lot of seems demo-like rather than fully fleshed out. But, naturally, there's some gems as there are on every Prince album. I was going to sell my copy but I know from experience I will want it back lol.

I find Phase two pretty dull, as well. The only standout track that I hear is Groovy Potential.

For promotion Stare would be a great choice, because it's the only track available on Spotify, so it has potentially the greatest audience.

But it is almost a year old.

The edit version of Black Muse (that was only released at Tidal) would be a nice choice.

I wish Prince had added the refrain "Rock Rock/Love Affair" thruout RNRLA and not just the end. That track might have had a shot. Then again without promotion it wouldn't have mattered.
