Re-discovered:

Agree with above, rediscovered Gett Off, for sure. For context I'm an 80s baby so the 90s was my introduction to P... And most of that via his amazing music videos. I've been rediscovering a lot of the early 90s material like Diamonds and pearls, most beautiful girl in the world, cream, 7, etc., which is a massive trip down memory lane and really feel good music for me.

Discovered a lot of covers via YouTube... Red house and motherless child being the stand outs. Also discovered his new stuff (I love breakfast can wait, breakdown, black sweat) and lots of 80s stuff I had never heard... The cross, starfish and coffee... So much!

For the first time ever I'm really into the Nude Tour/Diamonds & Pearls era NPG... always gave this era a miss in the pass (Hip-Hop/Tony M) but I've been watching shows from this era and am really enjoying it!

I was a fan girl CRAZY Purple Rain tween in the 80's so I loved every album all the way up to LoveSexy. I don't remember liking the songs Anna Stesia and LoveSexy as much as I do now though! I also discovered Prince's B-sides! Holy smokes!!! They are so darn good! Every. single. Song! Another one would be Wonderful A$$. A big bonus that it was rumored to have been written about Vanity(My Marilyn Monroe) lol. Discovered 3121 and Musicology, and really like Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic even though I'm not big on too many love songs. This is an understatement but Prince surpassed all my expectations. I should have had these songs in my life all these years. Wish I had a time machine sad

Re-discovered since 4/21....."A.O.A"...From reading some of the recent threads, many have said this album is his "Blackstar"......."H&R Phase One".....It's been growing on me slowly after "Phase Two....."The Black Album"..Siruis Radio played a lot of cuts during their tribute......."Batman" soundtrack..Really wasn't my favorite back then...The dude at my local wrecka stow was blasting this a few weeks ago..Didn't realize how good it was and dug it out of my crates.

Always one of my first fav slow jams back when I first heard it and the haunting mid section is just so sincere, so moving and full of raw emotion....love it

Electric Chair

I always liked the song a lot, but after seeing the SNL special and the live performance of it I have been obsessed with listening to it nonstop

The War. Never heard it before, so I bought the flac from Tidal. 26 min is waaaaay too long and bizarre for me, so I edited it down to 8:00. Now it's an actual song, and it's GOOD. dancing jig

The two major things I've rediscovered have been Love Symbol and Batman. I know each have their drawbacks, but both I didn't remember as being as good as they sound now - especially Love Symbol. I've always had a soft spot for Batman biggrin As for what I've discovered, all of the amazing live concert video and audio that has been pouring in of course! cool

Neon Telephone

Discovered:

The entire Lovesexy album. I love it! I can't believe I never bought it before!

Rediscoverd:

1999 album. It was the first record I ever got as a kid and I had actually placed an order for the CD a few days before Prince died, since I don't have a record player anymore and hadn't listened to it in years. It arrived the day he died. I've been listening to it frequently lately.

Have U had your + today?

"Space" -- liked it before, but have only recently realized how much of a classic it is. One of Prince's sexiest songs.

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

I finally descovered Future Soul Song and I am LOVING it... also I have recently discovered Satisfied and Call My Name...both classic funk soul ballads that only Prince could do... as far as rediscovering... I was really enjoying Schockadelica (the long version) this morning!!! and have really been re-feeling Welcome 2 The Dawn (for obvious reasons...sad to think of but helps a bit 2)

When they had three weeks of the Sirrus Prince channel they had Madhouse on heavy rotation. Every once in awhile I hear it on Real Jazz 67 channel. For a real treat on YT they have 2 Madhouse videos. Never saw those before. music

I did a lot of dl's last night. Haven't heard of most of the songs before. But would like to buy some of the 90's CD's since I've never heard them.

But tonight I've been listening to Sometimes It Snows, the D'Angelo version though. And just when I thought I was done crying. cry cry cry

I saw a video of "Call My Name" for the first time on a facebook fan page. I'd never heard the song before! I immediately LOVED it, and have been playing it non-stop ever since.

My main re-discoveries in recent weeks have been in the NPG Ahdio Shows, which I hadn't listened to in quite some time. I always loved the live material that was sprinkled in - especially the fourth show (with the 1986 Hamburg tracks, the '87 "Strange Relationship," the '95 "Get Wild," and the '93 NPG cuts).

I mean my God, that Ahdio show is practically its own little live album. Hmmm, maybe not exactly what the thread was specifically asking....

So I'll pick "Johnny" (since it's one of the '93 live versions) - fun song.

Also the "Big City Remix" of "The Good Life"
