That is a sad thought... My son would have been thrilled to see him. He's five years old and loves Play in the Sunshine; he thinks it's Prince as a kid being egged on by other kids to play! (play), (play),(play) no, (play) no, (play) no(come on, play) no!, (play) no!, (playplayplay) Yes!

in 2011, I went to my 3rd W2A show and brought my 2 kids. They were only 7 and 5 and they were wearing the Purple Rain Tshirts I bought in 1985 when I was 11 years old. Even though they fell asleep at certain points cause the show didn't even start till 10pm.....

I am so glad I had that experience with them

. I'm going to see Panic! with my daughter in July, and while Urie is a good vocalist and okay musician...nothing will ever compare to Prince. Even being front row for Lady Gaga's Born This Way tour paled in comparison to what I've seen Prince do live.

While no one can compare to Prince, I was quite impressed with Panic. I really enjoyed their performance!

I've got two sides to this...

First my son (who's 14 now)...

We live in Kent in the UK, in Tonbridge. We're about 10 minute drive from the Hop Farm, which only a few years ago was only famous for being a children's play park. We used to take our kids there (although would try and avoid it due to the ridiculous costs!). So, when it was announced that Prince would be there at their new-ish music festival I thought it was a joke. I mean, I'd already seen Prince over 20 times, and was used to travelling all around the UK to see him... and not just 10 mins up the road at what I basically thought of as an overpriced kids play area!

George was 9 at the time, and already was listening to whole Purple Rain album every night when he went to bed... and as it was so local I had to take him.

What a day/night it was... even Larry Graham would have been worth going for alone!

There's so many great memories from that night, but the best has to be standing about 10 yards from the stage with George on my shoulders listening to what has got to be the best version of Purple Rain I have ever heard live. There were tears streaming down both of our faces. Just simply unbelievable. I expected a cut down show as it was at a festival, but it was the full blown experience... and I think made even more the better as it was a mixture of Prince and non-Prince fans. I'll never forget that night. Walking back to the car in disbelief of just how good Prince could still be.... and getting home by half 11!

But now I have the sadness of never being able to take my daughter Amy to see him. She's 11 now, and adores Prince. It was really hard to say no to her when she wanted to come to the Hit n Run show with me at Shepherd's Bush empire... but I just couldn't take her at her age then. The piano tour would have been perfect though.

One other thing I am glad about though... I took my Dad to see him at one of the O2 shows I went to on the 21 nights in London tour. After years of hearing my play and tell him about Prince I don't think he really appreciated just how good a musician he was until that night.

So many memories to replay - but yes, the overriding thought at the moment is the disappointment of Amy never being able to experience what it's like to actually be in the same room as Prince.

Was one of the first things that hit me the 21st.

I would have loved to take my kids (10 an 12).

its surreal... Prince was one of those artists who was always there... and its definitely hard to accept that i will never see a Prince concert live again
