This is the guy who fantasised about incest with his sister on record. While he's intelligent and seemingly ongoing in educating his beliefs I could never give any more weight to his inclinations than anybody elses...

This should be the whole thing, in its entirety. He took questions for quite a while, and then this was posted all at once on the Love4OneAnother website sometime in 1998, judging from my site. Unfortunately I don't know the exact date of the posting...

In addition to the interview, there's also a statement from Prince I recorded entitled "The dawn nears... it's up 2 u!" This is the broadcast where he asked us webmasters to merge...in retrospect, it's kind of interesting...

Aww Teller was once about love, peace and what it means to be a member of the NPG. Then coldhearted fiscal policies took over and made that warm heart, cold... sad hehe

Oh man...I sure did drink a whole lot of that purple kool-aid back then... omfg

This is sooo embarrassing...

And yet...when Xpectation came out and we all happened to be stranded in the pink hot-tub, where the kool-aid was all they served...it was actually kinda nice share all the warm fuzzies together at "new-release time." hug

Teller, your site is pretty cool. I particularly like that banner on the left edge of the screen that's made of P albums. I only hope to be as talented with the graphics as you are one day smile

I remember that interview.

Oh lawd, Teller, you weren't the only one drinking the kool aid. . .that site is darling. Don't be ashamed! wink

I still appreciate the whole concept of the New Power Generation. . .I still appreciate the vision he had at that time. . .your site reminds me of how exciting it was to be a 0(+> fan then. His current religious fanaticism makes it hard to imagine feeling anything like that again, but as you say, the Xpectation experience was a glimmer.

*sigh* I think I miss the Kool Aid. . .Prince! Dammit! Get out da church and in da kitchen! Get out da suga! Make me some Kool Aid! I'll drink! I ain't ashamed!

LOL...yeah...it WAS fun to be Prince fan at the time...maybe there is no shame in it...I just wouldn't be caught dead with a site like that today, that's for sure!

Sometimes we attribute the waning magic to changes in his behavior...or I've usually said "I simply grew up." Maybe it was a little of both. But ya know...even in my grumpy old age, I still get a little giddy when a fresh new bottle of perfume such as TRC or Xpectation is opened up for me for the first time. I still love the music a whole lot, and it's still fun to follow the man's stunts...I guess that's why we're here, eh?

The answers he gave in the interview might have been weird, but weirdness and a reckless disregard for creative boundaries are what make an artist cut interesting new cloth.

U: Who is Bob George?

prince: A well-known "journalist."

I thought it was about Bob Cavallo and Nelson George?

prince: Yes... then they can bootleg the bootlegs.
