For those of you that have seen the Prince Warner Bros Japanese SHM mini albums Remember how cool those are? (I mean, they're all sitting in a box -- or in a cabinet and haven't been looked at since you acquired them . In 1997, it was announced that Prince would be releasing the following titles through Warner Japan. Of course, Prince changed his mind and collectors/fans lost out. . Now just imagine these as the Japanese Mini Albums. (The Japanese Mini Albums were like the vinyl versions that came out originally -- except that they were a CD instead of vinyl. I've always been slightly miffed that there never was one. He may have been a genius but he was a poor compiler / cataloguer.
I picked up the SHM CDs a few years back in one go. Love them to bits. I would have loved a full set of singles and a continuation of the format too. "...and If all of this Love Talk ends with Prince getting married to someone other than me, all I would like to do is give Prince a life size Purple Fabric Cloud Guitar that I made from a vintage bedspread that I used as a Christmas Tree Skirt."
