Delirious was used in a a Cheech and Chong film and Prince´s camp intervened, so that the later editions of that movie had to use a different (but very similar sounding) song by some other artist.

It's not uncommon for music issues to alter video releases.

However, I saw this film on cable recently and it DID have the Prince song.

Oh, so you saw the original version.

The edited version has a song called Twisted, which tries a bit too hard to sound like Delirious.

I don´t mind his music being used in commercials but it depends on the product that´s being advertised and the quality of the commercial.

Little Red Corvette was used in a commercial some years ago. I think it was a Chevy commercial.

Cream was used in a pizza commericial with in a year of it's release. (I believe it was pizza hut) It was only the music-no vocals were used.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I'm happy to hear his music in films, on tv or in certain commercials, but I really hope they never do this to a Prince song: https://youtu.be/rh-OJkh1Ozg

Pussy Control for tampon commercial would be exciting
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Years ago, Match of the Day in the UK used Life O' The Party for their end credits/highlight reel.

I remember this....you just know that it was a fan behind it!!

Yes, back in the day the song would be licensed for the film and television screenings, but no one had the foresight to include home video in the deal, and so songs had to be replaced. This happened with Stevie's 'Superstition' in The Thing, and I believe it's what held up a home video release of Heavy Metal for years and years.

Queens music is now used to sell eceything from tampons to insurance. Freedie was sold out. Their legacy is a joe now.

Prince's music should not end up like that.

Get out of here! Queen's legacy is stronger than ever in the uk! One of the largest fanclubs on the planet with everyone else probably wishing Bohemian Rhapsody was the national anthem.

Getting played everywhere is fine in my book. Prince advertising tampons? Well he spent enough time singing about minge so they might as well put the two together.
