The door was open and there was a purple velvet rope across the front. We were allowed to look inside, but not enter. I think that basement area led out to the parking garage where they filmed Sexy MF. That was 16 years ago though, so my memory is reaching. | |

One of the band members said that when they first started working with Prince they didn't know their way around PP and while looking for a bathroom had accidently walked through a stained glass door with a mailbox which entered a "hotel room" looking area and used the bathroom he found in the apt. It was only in the middle of doing his business that he looked around the bathroom and realized he was in Prince's private area - and quickly finished and removed himself before he got fired. | |

That was the beast behind the drums - Michael B. It was soon after he was hired & moved to MPLS. I wonder if he ever told Prince about that later on. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Bridle Path is a very intimate community, it's been that way since I was a child. There are some architectural marvels, but mostly people are attracted to the area because it's surprisingly rural for the city. Most of the properties are gated & lined with large trees, Prince's old home was no exception (as shown in pictures). The house itself was far back enough on the property too, that Prince & Mani had privacy, open windows & all. I find the design charming, it let lots of light in, which I feel reflected his personality at the time. I remember him being quite approachable, indeed. Possibly because he was able to have some anonymity while in Toronto? Although, like I've said before, he was pretty partial to specific clubs & didn't hide it. That's how I ran into him. Generally, people knew he was around but minded their own business respectfully. I was sad when he moved. "All the world is faith, trust and pixie dust...''
