Recovery

I now have realised that i will never fully recover.

There are two periods in my life as far as my purple heart : The one where he was still here, and the other in which he is gone.

My purple puzzle fell off the wall, i now have to piece it together. And when i`m done with that,

i`ll feel better, for sure - yet : i will NEVER fully recover from the loss.

to everyone who reads this : i have a purple heart for you.

lots of love,

tony

Pick up the pieces slowly...every day is different. We will always love Prince, but he would want us to focus on living wink

i came to the realization yesterday that i am not going to "get past" this. i have wasted too many hours trying to get past stuff. i will cry about it, get mad about it, but i will not fight the grief anymore. i will absorb, even embrace, it. it is going to become part of me and who i become. its a relief for me to accept this. it means that a person has had such an effect on me that in life, and in death, they have changed me forever.

will i eventually have happy moments in life? i expect i will have some, as hard as it is to imagine now. but i will not be the same person. i will never be "over" prince or his death. this is a scar i will wear with pride and love.

"do i have a friend tonight?" --prince at his last concert in atlanta bawl

And there's always a rainbow, at the end of every rain."--peace and love, dear prince.....

The only way to recover is to celebrate what is still very much alive : his legacy, his music, his artistry, his influence.

Personally, I'm planning to switch to more uptempo songs now that I listened to the haunting slow jams so much. I'll squeeze a slow one here and there just lhe did on most of his records.

Somewhere in my playlist, there will be U Gotta Shake Something.

“The best thing you can say to someone going through a tragic loss is not that

"It's going to be alright"

It is:

"Hold on tight because this is going to hurt like hell".”

― JohnA Passaro

If a man is considered guilty
For what goes on in his mind
Then give me the electric chair
For all my future crimes"
