I love this photo also. Probably not for a cover though.

I am glad you will be updating Alex. I'm sure there will be lots of books on the subject. I think it's okay that yours may be a little critical and not just all flattering.

He has set the bar so high for other artists with what he accomplished I think it's important to realize he was a human.

Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

Hi Alex, I really enjoyed your book, especially all of the first hand accounts you secured through dozens of interviews. I have several friends who are anxiously awaiting your ebook - I refuse to loan them mine - it's way too valuable now!

I was wondering if you have been able to get that same access to interview subjects for the updated book?

Not even close, unfortunately! An undertaking like that would require many months, or even a year of full-time work. As it is, it's been a pretty massive undertaking to accomplish what I have done so far in terms of modestly updating it.

I have completed a lengthy prologue that addresses what happened during 2016. It's a sad story, and was painful to write.

I've also discovered a lot additional information to add to the first chapter, about Prince's early life.

I'm also buidling out the existing chapter concerning the Rainbow Children period.

I am also creating a chapter about Musicology and 3121, and will also summarize subsequent activity.

Finally, I'm lightly editing the entire book so it is consistent with later events and reflects new information. Subsquent events have also cast new light on some of my analysis.

I think that for someone who has never read the book, they will get getting an updated and expanded version of what was a pretty comprehensive biography. For those that have read it, I think there's enough new material to justify what will be the extremely modest cost of buying an e-book, but by no means do I want to over-emphasize the amount of new stuff.

I hope that helps! I've been very immersed in this, but it takes so long to create even a little bit of decent writing. (And of course, cue here the people that feel the writing was lousy!)

Much love to the org.
