it's actually a cracking song, the recent Prince vocal version sample is really good. has that fuschia light type simple yet comlex thing going in.

Was it just me, but when it came out, it was so Prince, I thought it could have been him on vocal with a new 'camille' effect? .

I thought it was this Deborah Allen:

Just listened to it, I thought the sax sounded very Prince-like. I wonder if they sent the tape over to Paisley Park and he had Eric Leeds play on it or something. ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

He did learn to play sax, I think more when he was younger. It was proabbly one his high school instruments. But according to Candy, he didn't work on it like he did the main instruments into adulthood and stardom. But she listened to some of his recorded sax playing. she said this in an interview I'm sure someone can dig up. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

This song actually sounds like a very slowed-down "So Emotional" by Whitney Houston. Both were released in 1987. And, I'd never really considered that Prince could play any horns. I just figured that she was mistaken in the interview above. But, listening to the song again now, the saxophone is kind of basic and staccato and "stabby"... So, who knows?
