VIDEO: 2000 Voices Strong For Prince Choir! Choir! Choir! invited Toronto fans to participate in a tribute sing-a-long for Prince, just the other day at Massey Hall (a place near & dear to my heart, as it was the first place I ever saw Prince live). I can think of no better way to have honored the man (besides the Toronto sign, CNtower & Skydome lit up in Purple, haha). Hope it's okay to share my footage from Facebook, the night was really touching, get your kleenex out:
https://www.facebook.com/...7413127989 I was so moved the camera work is a little shoddy at times, not to mention my voice went to embarrassing places. Please forgive me, I was overcome with emotion. We were organized into 3 part harmony, btw: Low, Mid, & soprano. I was in the mid section. The choirmaster was well aware of how somber things were, for levity he was cracking jokes all night, sometimes Prince related. It got a little "Sister Act"-ish at times. ![]() ![]() This wasn't even the best part, though. After the show we stormed Dundas Square en mass, where we sang our hearts out in public. Apparently security was so taken off guard by the sudden wave of people, they were getting ready to put their swat gear on (true funk soldiers impress, ha). Here is a photo from the security cam: ![]() My video of that is being edited, I will post it when completed. The media was present. I will look for links to footage as well. ![]() Enjoy! It was my pleasure to be a part of, & to share it with everyone. ![]() I only wish Prince was alive to see it. But just knowing he still has the power to inspire & bring people together through music matters most. Proceeds from that night went to school music programs too, I think he would have appreciated that. ![]() "All the world is faith, trust and pixie dust...''
