If that's the case, I don't think it's a complete collection then. Where's Chaka's I Feel For You, for example, just to name but one?
Chaka's "I Feel For You" technically is a cover. So it is right to not have it included.

Several things on here I needed: the Kenny Rogers track, a few Brownmark tracks, the Kahoru Kohiruimaki tracks, a few Martika remixes, the El DeBarge track, the Celine Dion track, the Van Gogh tracks, the Rhonda Smith track...
Anytime I can fill some holes in the collection, I'm smilin'!!

There's nothing "new"--it's all officially released material, just much of it is unavailable digitally in any official form, and it's all together, without all the "non-Prince" stuff you'd get on some of the releases if you purchased them.
Yes, it's pirated--but much of the time if you were purchasing the legitimate products today you wouldn't be buying them "new" and the rights holders wouldn't be seeing any money anyway so I don't see much of a problem with grabbing this as a download if you find it somewhere. I did, and while there wasn't much on it I hadn't already gotten elsewhere, it's still a pretty comprehensive and easy way to get most (but not all) of the non-album tracks/related artist tracks). |

On a side note, as I wrote in another thread last week, it is a wonder how many first-rate songs he gave to other artists in the 1990-1992 years.
I ever had a spot on for Celine's "With This Tear", the Martika tracks ("Love...Thy Will Be Done" is undoubtely the best P's "Non Prince Song") and the Jevetta Steele tracks ("Open Book" on my top 3). But look also at the others of that era, simply unbelievable.
Put them together and we'll have a marvelous "Prince feat." album in the same excellente musical league of his own releases.

Indeed. I still wish he would have given some of those tracks to Rosie. |
