Platinum and Gold Status I know his sells have skyrocketed, but does anyone know if there's been any changes in platinum and gold statuses, since Prince's passing?

I don't think so, but I'd guess that the two mostly likely to change soon are likely For You (which has never been certified as either Gold or Platinum) and Dirty Mind (certified Gold in 1984) since they've both charted. Dig if U will the picture of U and Marvin Gaye and the kids.

In the 3 weeks on the charts since Prince's death... World wide The Very Best of Prince has been the highest seller so far in his catalouge... Almost selling over 800,000 in just 3 weeks. I say that will hit over a million sales in the next couple weeks.

Another treat. Another trick.

That's true, and "The Hits/B-Sides" had the b-sides and 4 new tunes. However, the people buying "The Very Best Of Prince" aren't interested in b-sides or remixes. They wanna hear the radio edit versions of the 6-7 songs they remember from the radio back in the day. The same people who, before April would have just said "Yeah, I like Prince, what has he done since Purple Rain?" I hope the people who buy that crappy greatest hits collection go back and get the individual albums and hear everything. But they probably won't. I have greatest hits albums from Tom Petty, Aerosmith, and The Police in my car. Will I go back and buy their individual albums? Probably not. Just my $0.02 Chas
