My Friend Was On Holiday In Nashville And... She saw Dez Dickerson sing Purple Rain, the night Prince died. I had a few garbled text messages from her today, but after further conversation it appears that it was Dez she saw!!! She originally said he'd played on Purple Rain, Cream and Kiss. But she's crazy, and had originally thought she was watching Nile Rodgers. She said "He was wearing a red hat", as if that narrowed it down. It was like playing Guess Who. lol  Wish I could have been there. She had no idea who she was watching. She loved him anyway, and thought he was amazing. It's kind of bonkers that she didn't recognise him, and I would have near-fainted. | |

Dez is awesome. He lives in Nashville. (source: I do too... saw him play with the local band Long Players when they performed the entirety of "Purple Rain." I may have some vid around, I'll take a look.)
Bet he would have been there had the Prince date here (originally scheduled for last week) gone through.
