Beautiful. Love them. "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Sus lives in LA and had only just flown back from Minneapolis when the idea came to the band. Rather than fly her out we had her record the vocal with our dear friend Oliver Leiber, the night before it was released!

I just watched this and my heart is breaking - the tears are falling - my favourite song - what a beautiful tribute. Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Ah okay, thanks a lot for telling us, sorry, didn't mean to spread misinformation. It was a beautiful version and tribute, thanks so much. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

That was beautiful. I don't even know what to say. Price lived a charmed life, just by the people he had in it. "Where you are now is in a place that does not require time." - Rest In Power, PRINCE

Price lived a charmed life, just by the people he had in it. ...I think everyone involved here were booted out of his life at one point. Leeds didn't want to join the Musicology Tour and, after 20 years service, would only get a single hello in the next dozen years. And here they are performing something beautifully under a fake name as Prince didn't allow them the real one. The tribute is a testament to the loss of a great talent. But not a great friend. Sad as that is.

On the one hand you're right. IDK whether or not Prince was a great friend or not. But he was a friend at some point and they all shared love. That much is clear. Death makes a lot of shit irrelevant you know? You might not wish you had done things differently, because no one wants to be mistreated, but death levels the playing field in a way that nothing else can and it reminds you of what was most important in regards to your interactions/relationships with people. Susannah's involvement speaks VOLUMES, all things considered.
You can love someone from a far you know? And I think that's kind of a common thread that you see with people that knew him, espeically from the folks that knew him at the begining. He very much seemed to be the type that was not easy to be around no matter how likeable he actually was. Yeah they had falling outs. Yeah they may have distanced themselves professionally from him in later years, and as a result they turned into personal distancing as well, BUT to me this says that they loved him and they were able to come together and squash all the bullshit and recognize what he's done for them. We wouldn't know who any of those people were if not for Prince. This is their final show of gratitude. Maybe even their way of communicating with him in death in a way that they couldn't or chose not to communicate with him in life. I can only hope to have half the impact on the lives of my loved ones as prince did, including the people that are no longer in my life.

This is my favourite version. I loved The Family version, even though I thought St Paul hadnt matured enough yet on his vocal abilities. I can't really say that now. It's beautiful! I truly love this one. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

I never cared much for the original. (It's the only song on the Family's album I don't like.) But last night's performance was truly beautiful.
