That all seems very likely and sadly it seems his death could have been avoided

If this is true, why were the staff not keeping an eye on him? Why did they allow him to leave the hospital? confuse

This all strikes me as the most plausible of the theories reported so far. Which is too bad, he was a couple days away from getting help.

My theory would be, Prince gets what Prince wants. No one would tell him no. If he wants to leave the hospital, he leaves. If he want to be alone, they leave him alone.

They were his employees. The boss generally doesn't take orders from the worker bees.

Prince left the hospital because he wanted to sad and it appears that possible press/outsider attention was part of it, since he left AFTER being denied a private room. Adults leave the hospital everyday of their own free will. I dont doubt that is staff tried to convince him to stay, but really how do you make someone do something? It sucks. Perhaps this is the way things were meant to be. :/

Prince was responsible for the decisions he made, no one else. He was a grown man not a child.

Hold up. This is standard procedure for anyone who takes pain meds. So they do not become hooked, since heroin addiction comes from pill addiction. I still think he died of another issue. If it was just drugs we would have had the outcome by now.

I don't deny Prince made his own decisions, but if the staff knew there was a big problem there needed to be a little tough love, right? If his entire staff banded together, would Prince have fired them all on the spot? Maybe, maybe not. Atleast they gave it their all to help him...

If this is true, I hope his family uses the tragedy to do some good. I hope they take this opportunity to carry on Prince's philanthropic life & deeds to shine a light on drug addiction & provide much, much needed funding for drug treatment. It would be wonderful & deserving if his horrible, unnecessary death could benefit & help save the lives of others. If what people say about him is true, I think this would provide him great peace & comfort.

see the sticky 'autopsy/investigation updates' this story broke about 10 hours ago and lots of discussion there.

No, we wouldn't have. From the beginning we were told that toxicology results could take weeks. Toxicology results, BTW, are the only way to know with 100% certainty. So no.

I know mods have closed several threads on this topic and directed it to the autopsy/investigations thread. But this is breaking news - people obviously want to discuss it outside of that thread, right?

You have to think about how difficult it makes it for them to moderate everything though. They cannot be everywhere.

Well, damn. confused The prescription painkiller epidemic is truly ravaging the country. Prince would probably be alive today had he listened to reaon and stayed in the hospital.

I think and hope this will put better focus on this huge problem (drugs, addiction, abuse, pain-management)

Exactly, which is why I don't believe the report. If his situation was a "serious medical emergency" I find it very odd that he would be left alone. It's amazing how many reports have been flying into the media since he passed. The only report that I care about and will believe is the full autopsy report.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I asked him that in a tweet last December- "If u had a time machine, would u use it?" He replied "Everybody has one. They're called brains"

💔 Oh how I wish my brain could only turn back this horrendous reality.
