I would buy a Revolution album without Prince but not 3rdeyegirl. But I would buy a funky type W&L album that had Dr Fink and Brownmark on it, so that is what the Revolution would basically be, as I don't know if the rest of them are songwriters.

.

But their songwriting prowess probably faded over time, just like Prince's did over the last 5 years or so. I would give it a chance though.

Yes I would.

I've seen all Prince's bands since the Revolution and 3RDEYEGIRL were the most fun. If a glimmer of what they learnt with Prince can surface, I'm keen to check it out.

I wouldnt buy a 3rdeyegirl album with prince on it or off it. I am just not into any of the bands or proteges that prince had post 2000.

Maybe.

Who else had NPG Records releases besides 3rdEyeGirl and Andy Allo recently?

Do WB get all NPG Records' output and roster now too?

Maybe I would check them out...I thought the 3rd Eye project was a nice break from the "Musicology-lounge singer" act as the OP said. When P changed his look it reminded of the crazy stuff he used to do. Maybe they should get TTD, Nikki Costa or Sandra St. Victor to front them (if they continue).

There are a few artists now who will have to stand on their own two feet. 3rd Eye are three of them. I would still buy the album because their second would have had Prince input anyway.

Just wondered, if the girls carried on the band without their leader, would you check it out?

I think I'd give it a listen. Trouble is, the weakest tracks on Plectrum Electrum were the ones fronted by the girls.

I'm sorry I had to buy one 3rdeyegirl album to begin with. (I like the album, but Prince would have done it better on his own.)

Ida is a fabulous Bass player, Donna is simply fire and Hannah is "not bad for a girl" too. They'll rock in any band. They'll work. I hope they can find a way.

.

Not being mean but LGC became stale before these girls turned up. LGC Reloaded was hopefully something to do with them. I like 3EG.
