Vinyl reissues continue...

So, the vinyl reissues that started a few years back (Purple Rain, 1999, Dirty Mind & Controversy) look to be continuing. For You came out just before he died, Prince is out this week, ATWIAD went up for preorder last week and now, it looks like most of the rest of the WB catalog has been announced through the rest of the year...

Too bad that they aren't continuing with the 180gram releases, but it'll be nice to fill in some holes in the vinyl collection. Interesting that Lotusflow3r is listed among these.

(Yes, at the time I'm posting this, the database has the incorrect title listed for Lovesexy)

Hope to add D&P & Black Album to my collection. Maybe we'll also see C&D & TVOFFS?

Now the reissues involve some cassettes too:

Hmm, I wonder if the Black Album will sound better than the underwhelming '94 cd...

I would think about the same. I could put it on the player and find out. I never played it because the sound of the CD sucked, I assumed the record did too.

They never released C&D on vinyl. It would be cool if they did. It's the only WB album I don't have in vinyl.

Right, here's hoping they fix that. Did they release The Vault: OFFS on vinyl?

Also, don't assume the vinyl Black Album sounded bad, it was mastered for vinyl after all (which is why the CD sound isn't what one might expect). wink

I just realized that the Lotusflow3r listing is a reissue of the "Becasue Music" vinyl + CD package, containing 2 LPs & 2 CDs of Lotusflow3r & MPLSound and the poster!

It was a busy time in my life, so busting out the record player wasn't happening. But I still have them. Plus 2 extra copies of never played 1980's vinyl Sign O the Times. Actually, I have spare Prince WB albums through Graffiti Bridge.

Most definitely. The are co-branded "NPG/Warner Brothers"

This is "filling in" from the 4 previous vinyl releases in 2009 (Purple Rain) and 2011 (Dirty Mind, Controversy & 1999). These new issues are not 180g pressings, sadly.

I found most of the ones I still need to complete my vinyl collection. Has anyone found the Amazon pre-order for Diamonds and Pearls? It may just not be up yet.

I haven't received my copy of For You yet but from what I've read they are 140 gram, so heavier than the originals. Doesn't make a difference sound quality wise though, contrary to popular belief.

It's not up yet. A few other sites have it up but not Amazon.
