7 hours 15 days moment of national/world silence? look forward to Wednesday to hear about plans. I need a funeral, memorial, yesterday. feeling sad, not sleeping much. we bury folks usually within the week they die. feeling sad and crabby tonight. it is like a holding ground a middle place. I so need a world fam goodbye celebration. like a waiting to let go. it feels so long and hurts a lot. need a proper goodbye yesterday. so sad tonight

Found it - 10:07 AM 8:07 AM where I'm at in California
On May 6th at 5:07 PM (or 3:07 PM) that will mark 7 hours and 15 days since he's been gone
Interestingly there is a tribute scheduled at the Los Angeles City Hall at 5 o'clock that day [Edited 5/3/16 1:49am]

That is interesting. It would be comforting to recognise it at that time everywhere.

Reminds me that some legislator was proposing a bill to remove time zones . . this would be an example of an instance where a time zone doesn't help

Sorry if this sounds dickish, but I don't really think Prince's death is quite important enough to merit a national minute of silence. I don't know how it goes in the US, but in Britain they're usually to commemorate the victims of war or terrorism. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about that.

it is not icish .my point is something for the world.whatever it is, just soon. celebration for all. I dont know just something. I know yes it is coming yes I need to have patience, just feeling bad
yes it is actually offensive to those who have been recognized that way. yeah thats offensive. forgive me. i will be quiet now, yeah maybe not good idea. intended with luv. [Edited 5/3/16 2:37am]

I am not even saying this because we're on a Prince forum . . but Prince's death is most certainly worthy of national commemoration (as is his life). Do you have any idea what power and impact music has?
When Prince died the whole world lit up monuments in purple light . . you can't say the same for any other artist. Is was truly touching.
When Paul McCartney releases a new song . . wars should stop as the soldiers on both sides join hands and sing Beatles songs

Sorry! I feel horrible now because I've made you feel bad when you were just trying to say and do something nice. Just ignore what I said!

What you say definitely makes sense. Maybe I should rephrase what I said: Prince's death probably isn't important enough to merit a minute of silence according to the criteria which are currently used. However, you're definitely right. Culture is of huge importance even if it can't be quantified, so I'd be all in favour of the criteria which govern the 'politics of memory' being made more inclusive.

please don't feel horrible it is fine. emotions running high for me tonight. my emotions were a wreck before. its all good. your point just made me wonder if I was tripping out,not thinking about terroris victims mass violence. I think we both might want the same thing though and it is to appreciate his music and life. its 5AM here, its just hard for us all to have lost him.

Yes it should. We've been discussing this in another thread. . The original lyric - used in The Family's version and the one Prince always sang was "7 hours and 13 days". Sinéad's version of the song used "15 days" instead. . fdeluxe / The Family already have something planned for May 4th i.e. honouring the 7 hours/13 days.

Indeed, and whenever Prince sang it he always sang 13 days.

Well, after what the little psycho has been saying on her Facebook page recently, playing her version would be quite insulting to the fans... They just gonna have to dig out the Hits/B Sides and use that one. Or.... Not play anything because they have all but forgotten Prince already.

it is on Hits 1 so it should be easy ish to find "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

The Family / fDeluxe are planning something. They've said they'll do it/reveal it 7 hours and 13 days from his death, which is tomorrow. They said they'll do something to help the fans grieve. . Remember, 15 days was Sinead's version, because she didn't like the number 13 (allegedly - but then again, what does she like these days). Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
