Prince Clothes I absolutely love what Prince wore! But where would he get this stuff from? I want 2 start wearing more of his style but jeans and tshirts are the majority of my stuff! Where do U guys think I could buy stuff kinda like what he wears? Or is that more thrift shops and personalized tailor type stuff?

He had a personal fabric purchaser. Like as her job. For someone to make the clothes No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ . He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

He had a wardrobe room and a personal tailor designing & making new clothes all the time... She's a costuming professor now.

Everything was custom going back before the 1999 days. You'll never find anything like it unless you know Marie France Van Damme. [Edited 5/2/16 17:47pm]

Serious question -what was the deal with the collars on his shirts? Were they made to be high to trick the eye into thinking he was taller?

I don't think so, that would actually make you look shorter. He probably just liked the formality of high collars. After all he was royalty.

Funny you should mention it I returned home today after visiting Paisley Park. I saw the many memorials left by those who loved Prince. The Beautiful Purple Symbol of purple roses sent by the UK Prince Group was outstanding!! There were so many heartfelt sentiments left with flowers, stuffed toys, pictures, all kinds of every emotion written everywhere. It was a beautiful display of love for Prince.
When I was about to get changed into my pj's I decided that starting now, I am going to dress like a Prince chick. I put my black leggings on and a silky soft embroidered night shirt. I've been buying things at a discount and used store that sell all kinds of clothing from around the country. Different stores donate so it's a good variity of what I could picture Prince wearing. The store I go to has both new and gently used clothing, most of it brand new. I was really gettin into it, just to have clothes to wear to Paisley Park Parties, hoping the doors would never close.
The day Prince died, my daughters rushed to see me. And with all that nervous energy I brought out all those party clothes and asked them to take whatever they liked. It felt good that they liked a lot of them. I'm guessing that Prince liked soft, silky, pretty, sparkely, comfortable, maybe a little spanx to give that sleek, tight fit look in clothing. 2Gether 4Ever

I was thinking of perusing some thrift shops or discount stores for 'offbrand' type clothing. That or become super rich and get a personal tailor!

Definitely thrift stores and maybe sites like Etsy, search for 80s clothes and you're sure to find some Prince influenced stuff from the era. Some of the accessories he wore like the lace gloves you can find dirt cheap on Ebay, like literally 99 cents with free shipping (might take a couple weeks coming in from China though). ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

Haha I want to start dressing like P too, thanks for making this.
As others are mentioning in this thread, he had a personal costume designer so it's not like you can go to your local mall or go to a high fashion store and get his stuff there. You can either try learning how to make clothes on your own, get rich and hire a costume designer, or buy stuff from thrift stores.
Also, it depends what Prince era you are trying to recreate. Like for example, if it's Controversy era then you should look out for trench coats, bandanas, tuxedo-like vests, old scarfs, leopard blazers, tights. "I was here in the beginning and I'll be here forever more"
