Prince's final show on UK soil...

http://www.theguardian.co...tism-rocks

Obviously we didn't know this would be his final show in the UK when we were there, but what a show to leave us on!

I remember it being the night after the Super Bowl and going along in my Brady Patriots jersey because I was so happy they beat the Seahawks. Also remember it being freezing outside in the queue, and when we left the show it started snowing outside the Koko, capping off what was a magical unforgettable night. Also remember singing with all the other fans on the way out and bumping in to the comedian Sean Locke in the foyer and giving him a high five.

Prince was on super rare form that night. Fantastic memories!!

Setlist:

1. Purple Rain
2. Let's Go Crazy
3. Take Me With U

5. Funk 'n' Roll
6. Controversy
7. 1999
8. Little Red Corvette
9. Nothing Compares 2 U

In terms of Prince concerts, it wasnt what i would consider a classic but it's certainly one of the most memorable gigs I attended.

It was a strange experience, and if I'm honest, my attention was split between the stage and the celebrity guests surrounding us.

It's not every day you stand on the balcony at the Koko and straight in your eye-line

about 10 foot away is your deputy prime minister (Nick Clegg), rocking out to Hot Thing.

Across to my left stood Noel Gallagher and I took great pleasure in watching his face whilst Prince was absolutely killing it on guitar during Dreamer.

You're right about the cold, we arrived at 7pm and doors didnt open until gone 9pm - we were frozen!

And I almost didnt make it back to Wales after the gig, freak snow storm closed sections of the motorway.

All in all, a great night, if a little surreal.

Naomi Campbell was just along from us. Not sure how I'd feel grooving to Hot Thing with Nick Clegg next to me....!!

That wasn't this final was it? The arena tours came after that - I saw him in Manchester.

EDIT - Oh wait sorry Autism rocks. Yeah.... you are right. But hardly anyone could go to this as the prices were so steep and not out to the general public.

So his last available one would be the arena one's the year before. I have no idea who was last - did he do Scotland or am I imagining that?

Actually the price was reasonable, £50 and that was a donation to the charity rather than ticket cost. But you're right on the numbers, I think they only let 200 tickets go out to the public. I was just super lucky to be in the right place at the right time and got a tip off from a friend on here. Slight shame his last one wasn't a return to the O2 arena or a big stadium show.
