Did Prince not like jeans? Lol? I was watching an Australian special on Prince. They had an interview with his hairdresser who said that Prince didn't want his staff wearing jeans while at Paisley Park, on tour, etc. She said that the crew had to look "sleek" all the time. Why was Prince opposed to wearing jeans? I believe he wore jeans on the "Sign O' The Times" tour and even earlier ("Prince"/ "For You" era).

Maybe he thought they looked scruffy

If that's the same hairdresser who cut the sides of his hair years ago and messed it up she still got one coming from me I dont believe shit she says

It was Kim Berry. She was stating that Prince wanted his staff to look sharp at all times. So jeans and t-shirts didn't cut it at Paisley Park.

She said he wanted you to look like, "Hey, I work for Prince" ---- I get it. No laid back jeans and flannels. People get too laid back and sloppy these days. Some of the "hot" actresses of today have stringy hair and hardly wear make up and I don't get it. I miss the glamour.

I've heard this, too - and then you see what people wore to the Paisley shows and I'm mystified! I always think if I were going there, to stand mere feet away from Prince? No. I would not be wearing my best flannel, if you know what I mean.

. . I know! I used to think that same thing. I know the world is more casual in general, and some folks just wear what they have and be glad they're even there at Paisley. But I would have felt so underdressed and scrubby wearing some of the ensembles I've seen out there. . Then you have those who wore "dressy" but very little when perhaps a flannel over the top of their outfit might've been welcomed. . In the end I suppose it doesn't matter - people got to see and hear Prince and be at Paisley, and they have incredible memories. But it's funny to talk about some of the clothings choices seen parading around there over the years!

Is flannel really big in Minnesota or something? Lol, I don't think I've seen anyone wearing flannel since the 90s grunge thing. Then again I live in Texas. ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

I ALWAYS dressed up for Prince concerts. Just in case... Hahaha, just kidding. I did it cause he made me feel feminine and good about myself.

i always tried to have fun with the shiny side or at least a little dressy when i went to the parties at paisley park. in fact upstairs right now there's a pair of glimmery gold pants and matching top i wanted to wear to the next dance party.

During musicology tour one of my friends wanted to go on stage but she was wearing jeans. The guy giving out those wrist bands told her "ain't gonna happen in those jeans" so she convinced some random person to trade pants with her and so she got her wrist band.

I always put effort into my outfits, even when I'm just running errands. I love glamour too. I am a bit alternative/ retro in style and alternative/ retro are mixed with glamour a lot. I still love Mayte's style during the LoveSymbol era.

. Prince was very aware of his image and that of his band and that of his employees. It's like IBM requiring their employees to wear nice suits. Image does matter in a lot of cases.

I'm a grungy, 90's kid but I'm starting to figure out that there's nothing wrong with a little bit of glamour in every day life. I don't need to look at an outfit and think "do I have anywhere special to go today or should i just stay in sweats and save that for another day." What am i saving it for? Why not look nice for myself?
As far as concerts go, I went to his first in jeans and a t-shirt. I knew better after that. You DRESS for a Prince concert. Join me under the waterfall

I often wondered about the jeans thing myself. A few days ago I realized I had never seen him in a pair of jeans before in my life. Even when he was wearing sneakers, he was still classy from head to toe. Personally, i couldn't give up jeans but damn, he always looked good. Join me under the waterfall

Morris Day has been sharing LOADS of photos on his FB page. Prince *did* wear jeans when he was young - high school age.

If I worked for him I would've got a replica outfit he wore for the gett off mtv awards performance everyday to work. Imagine the looks off people queuing for the bus in assless trousers with a pasty hairy ass on display...

Didn't he sing something about 'the devil with the blue jeans on' in Days of Wild?
Ah no... It was in Face Down...

I've seen photos of Prince in jeans, but that was before he was really rich and famous.
