Cool is something that if you think you are or try to be you never shall become.

The Fonz is cool. That nerdy lad from Love (us TV comedy series) is cool. Prince was cool. My pal Shaun is cool.

That would be me, oops duh

A lot of them wil forget about Prince by the end of the year though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...to be fair I don't mind people who think they're cooler than everyone else, just as long as they keep it to themselves and exist in a state of quiet, smug satisfaction...it's the people who feel threatened and the manifestation of their insecurities result in a need to criticize others that do my head in!

[Edited 5/6/16 2:12am]

Honestly, I've kept it to myself only because nobody has come up to me telling me they just became Prince fans. I'd only be mean to someone if I knew they were basic people just following trends though. If I could really tell they're being genuine about their new found love then I'd help them out by suggesting them stuff. I'm already seeing lots of attention seekers online and it is really pissing me off cause they're using Prince to get people to look at them.

Life's too short to begrudge them, all the better if they become fans enough to immerse themselves in all his material, rather than the hits, I do find it frustrating when people say they love him and his music but are stopped dead in their tracks when u mention the likes of The grand progression, Data bank, or Murph Drag to them, but feck it, I just know I'm happy to have knowledge of his material and it brings me joy every time I listen to it, Prince is dead, but will 4ever live.
All u haters need to recognize, if u cant c right through these lies, good gawd!

Most will disappear. It's like he said looking at his audience on the PR tour in 1985, he knew he would never be seeing most of these people again. The social media fans that jumped on this because it is a story and the story of the moment, so they share it to bring traffic to their own posts etc.... but once a story goes away or a new one takes over they leave. For a week or so after on my timeline I never realized ALL the Prince fans there were, well actually they weren't really, most of them that is.

Got into Prince in 1986, lost interest during 2000-2013. Sold my vinyl and CD collection in 1996 to help pay the rent (I knew I was doing the wrong thing back then but I needed a roof over my head).

I only subscribed to Tidal this year purely for Prince's music. It's been great listening to albums that I hadn't heard in years, discovering new stuff (Prince & 3rdeyegirl in particular).

I'm not sure if that makes me a "Johnny-Come-Lately" but to be honest, I don't really care.

My musical journey is between Prince and I....it's not for anyone else to judge.

I think Prince would just be glad so many eventually showed up to the after party party....

Personally I think it's cool new people are being introduced to Princes music and realizing how talented he is. Music is universal and should be for everybody and there should be no set rules or boundaries when it comes to it, anyone is free to like whichever musical genres like that regardless of having to adhere to any stereotypes.

Seriously? You get frustrated by people who say they love Prince but aren't familiar with MURPH DRAG?

One of the things I love about being a Prince fan is that it seems like there is ALWAYS something I haven't discovered yet. Even after decades of searching, the amount of material out there always felt infinite: Though I have gigabytes of his music, dozens of albums, bootlegs, stray tracks, etc., it always seemed like there was the potential to discover new, amazing material that I hadn't heard. (Like a couple weeks ago, when I discovered "Billy's Sunglasses" for the first time. Wow! What a treat -- can't believe I hadn't heard it!)

Part of the sadness I feel in Prince's passing -- beyond my concern for the artist himself -- has to do with the realization that, after all, the amount of his music that's out there feels suddenly finite. It's like the universe got suddenly A LOT smaller.

The more fans the merrier. I don't care if they only listen to "Take Me With U" on repeat. It just means there's that much more for them to discover.

Welcome them all. New fans. Old fans. Welcome them all.

The more Prince's music sells, the longer it will be around for us to listen to.

R I P Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so very much.

RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

My head was like "you need the money" but my heart was like "Nooo....."!!!

I'm loving Tidal. I have only downloaded Prince albums though....LOL! It's quite expensive at $19.99 a month but hey, Prince is worth it smile

The more demand there is for his music, the more likely we are to see decent vault releases.

I really, really hope that the Microphone & Piano Tour Live CD gets released. Prince hinted at it shortly before he died.......the two that he released on Tidal were amazing especially the Little Red Corvette/Dirty Mind mix smile

Kind of ironic, the biggest fans can be identified as the ones who DIDN'T run to Amazon on April 21.

Yeah, we were too busy denying and then crying.

I'm quite happy to stay in denial, I like it here.....
