Is the whole mess making you even sadder for Prince? It is depressing. Something bad about Prince and the situation after his death almost every day. Fighting sibilings who come out of nowhere and probably dont really deserve so much (I bet if Prince did a will, they wouldnt get what they are trying to get now), speculation about his health and what he had (AIDS), rumors about illicit drug use, the almost certain mishandling of the Vault, police reports about the number of times they were called to the Park, and now so called secret love children.
Even with all the love pouring out for him, the media is two faced. It will try to reduce him to the clown in the media cirucus the way it did Micheal Jackson (who did way more to bring it on himself than Prince ever did). I avoid media reports now. I just want to remember my hero as we all know he truly was. I love him so. [Edited 5/3/16 8:01am] [Edited 5/3/16 8:17am] Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

Yeah, I said this in another post, but for a guy who was so protective of his privacy in life is having it ripped to shreds after his death. A real shame. I didn't want him to go out like this.

Could not agree more. I felt violated for him, reading headlines of them "drilling open" the vault.

Especially this so called love child. One is supposed to be around 30 yrs old, Why didn't he and/or his mother come out years ago and let people know???

Don't forget, a lot of the "mess" is just press speculation. They love to make a story where there isn't one!

I think most of the allegations are just that....allegations and speculations. And even if he DID indeed die because of AIDS and an addiction to heavy painkillers, it would not bother me one bit because I don´t see those two factors as a stigma at all. What does bother me is how his estate and the vault material and the already released material are going to get managed because his siblings obviously don´t have the slightest clue regarding his body of work or his estate in general, or what to do with Paisley Park. Let them have all the money they want but please don´t endanger his legacy and art because the whole story is far from being finished. And I´m not saying this because I want more music and video footage, but because this is about his legacy, his past and present, and maybe future projects, and how much of it will stay in the future. . And it all depends on who is going to be in charge from now on. . As far as the mess goes, I don´t really pay much attention to it. I haven´t even heard about that alleged love child of his.

I totally agree. I hate that his name is being thrown around in EVERY news report now. I honestly am not listening to any of it, or watching the news about it. What I hear is either being posted here on The Org, or from family or friends with "Did you hear that they said THIS..." or "Is it true about that...". I'm just like "you can't believe everything you hear or read - so just stop buying into all the ridiculous hype!" He lived every day of his life just wanting to be private. It really makes me sad now that all this nonsense is coming out. This was not the way he wanted to live his life. And I know we can't do a damn thing about it, he was a public figure so the world will say all this craziness as long as there is someone who wants to listen. I know we can't make it stop, but it still hurts to see it happening.

What bothers me about it is that the news reports are on the verge of slander and libel, and that the hardest working and most disciplined man in showbiz , the most clean living one, too, is portrayed as a junkie, addict, cokehead etc. and his work ethic is being downplayed and explained by drug abuse. Even though people that were really close to him keep mentioning what a healthy and clean lifestyle he lived. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I'm not sad for Prince, at all. He lived his life exactly as he pleased - right down to having no plans in place for after he was gone. (If you don't think that was deliberate, you haven't been paying attention for the last nearly-40 years.) None of what is happening now hurts Prince in the least. He's dead. The people it "hurts" are those who have become heavily invested in him emotionally over the years. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Agree for the most part, especially about being sad for ourselves. But you know how much his songs meant to him (to the point of calling them his "children"). I doubt he´d want to see his body of work in the wrong hands, or mismanaged by people who don´t really have an understanding of his music as a whole. His legacy always meant a lot to him even though he said he didn´t care about the past. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I feel the same way, so annoyed. All speculation, no facts.....it's frustrating and depressing.
