There's tons of tributes out there, don't think can post about every single one, but this one struck me because it's not a tribute (after his death), but well-wishes and prayers after that emergency plane landing.
Can't help but think that after many years in the biz, they had a feeling that emergency landings are a bad sign.
Simon sounds really sincere and concerned.

Whilst more successful bands like REM and U2 wrote their big 'I was trying to help them' songs about Kurt Cobain and Michael Hutchence respectively, this was all a bit of a cynical grab for the public vote.

But not Duran Duran. They wrote a song about Michael Hutchence, partially naming him in the title, telling him he was a great guy, referencing his problems with Bob Geldof, making it clear he was prone to doing something silly, and BEGGING HIM NOT TO DO IT. LeBon changes the chorus line of 'I know that you're going to call if you need me' to 'I know that you're going to call WHEN you need me' as the song plays out to an almost defeated backdrop.

They released it a month before Hutchence killed himself. The song is called 'Michael, You've Got A Lot To Answer For' and is a haunted classic.

So I think it's one band we can believe are sincere. To the nines!

I love Duran Duran - it was so wonderful for Simon to say what he did. He and the band were clearly very worried about Prince.

Genuine love from DD to Prince when they thought he was only taken sick.

DD were my number two after Prince through the 80s...so this was personally nice to see.

Sad and ironic that one of the last things Prince said was to save / not waste our prayers - there were so many for him that came from a place of love!

good choice. always liked that song and Prince would have really made it shine had he interpreted it

I heard that they had done that before Prince passed and thought they were being overly dramatic at the time :-(
