The first posthumous Michael Jackson album was released 18 months after his death MJ died on June 25, 2009 and Sony released "Michael" on December 14th, 2010.
So my point is obviously don't expect to hear any "new" music by Prince anytime soon...sad but probably true.

But then again, most MJ's unreleased tracks were either very unfinished or lost in various places and had to be found. Hell, his first posthumous release had only 10 tracks (3 of them were fake!) With Prince, his stuff is mostly in one place (the vault) and are finished (he just couldn't find an album for these song to fit in).

You don't know that. And neither do I, either.
I've seen different assessments of how much unreleased material Michael had left over and it seems to vary a lot. Some reports suggested hundreds of songs were left unreleased. (Though I have no idea what state those songs are in and why they chose to release material from the Cascio Tapes when it wasn't all that good.)
Citation needed. Everything I had seen had shown that experts proved the songs used were, in fact, recorded by Michael Jackson.

tbh I think 18 months is fairly quick. I definitely don't expect any more releases this year. I would love to be proven wrong of course [Edited 4/29/16 17:38pm]

IIRC, didn't they release Michael that fast because MJ's estate was deeply in debt?
I might be wrong, but I can't imagine Prince being broke the way Michael was.

It is going to take a while to put this music together and make sense of it all, unless there is an abundance of complete albums already complete like "Roadhouse Garden". If not, this could take years given the current state of his estate. Cause tomorrow is taking too long
