Let me introduce myself, I just stumbled on this site a couple weeks ago signed up shortly after Prnce's passing, so I know this is comming a bit late I suppose.

I've been a fan of Prince since 1982 when I was 11 and he was my favorite artist by 1988. I remember back in the the '90s being on the Prince message boards on America Online and the Sunday night chats but I lost acess to the internet around 1999 and remained offline for about 10 years. I remember calling 1-800-NEW-FUNK to order the 5 disc Crystal Ball (and then bought one in a record store when it arrived there before mine showed up in the mail) However in the early 2000s I started to become disinterested in his direction, New Power Soul did not agree with me, The Rainbow Chidren lost me and NEWS did not click, plus I could not acess the digital only music ( I still have yet to figure out how to do MP3s) My tastes in music had changed also to a more Goth/Industial style).

I still bought Prince's records when I saw then in stores but Planet Earth, Musicology, and Lostusflower still didn't work for me and it saddend me. On the other hand most music was not doing it for me. Probably the distraction of getting married, having 2 kids and a morgage I could barely afford killed the mood for me.

About 4 weeks ago I gave The Gold Experience and Chaos and Disorder a remeniscent listen and then decided to give Planet Earth a new try, and things started to click in my ear hole again and I was able to feel his music again! Then on the morning of April 21st my wife texted me the news that Prince died. I shook me almost as bad as when my wife told me my mother died (at the age of 59). I was just in emotionaless shock for a day untill I played My Computer that night and it brought tears to my eyes.

Prince was the only celebrity I really admired and loved. I feel like I found a lost friend only to loose him again. Sorry if i bothered ya'll with my ramblings but i had to get this off my chest. I allready miss him and I hope his soul is at blissfull peace.
