The time Prince turned up at a fashion award ceremony in a fake beard and flat cap? Hi, 9 year lurker, first time poster here. I'm hoping somebody may have some more info/pictures/video of one of the funniest Prince moments that I can (kinda) recall. As far as I remember he received an award for Best Dressed Male, from GQ or Vanity Fair or somewhere, and he turned up at the ceremony in an old coat, fake beard and flat cap. No I'm not crazy, but the only evidence that I've ever seen of this is a picture of him behind a mic stand and an animated gif of him winding down his car window, shaking his fist, and the window winding back up. Sadly I can't currently find either of these. Does anybody remember this? I could of course have the details very wrong but this is the place to ask. Thanks! This is how he looks in the video to Come On in 1998. You'll find the arm shaking gif originates from this. I'm guessing you can find it online now that the floodgates have opened. If nowhere else, it's shown on the Tavis Smiley 1998 interview which is on YouTube. [Edited 5/2/16 11:20am]

Yes that's it, thank you! Just watched it on YouTube, I've been catching up with some of his lesser seen videos but had missed this one. Prince dressed as an old busker getting into all kinds of mischief in a London park, it's hilarious! Lurking since '07

Yeah that's the picture! Any idea if it's an outtake from the Come On video or if he really did go to a fashion awards dressed like this? Lurking since '07

If I recall correctly, he was giving out a comedy award to Chris Rock. The audience appeared really confused.

Brilliant, thank you! He had such a brilliant sense of humour, watching things like this and when he dressed up as Bryant Gumbel are greatly comforting at this time Lurking since '07

Didn't he appear somewhere in a park dressed like this, saying something like "I got the butter for your muffin, but I'm too old to hold the knife"?
If memory serves me well, it was in London, 2007. [Edited 5/4/16 11:17am]
