yes this was news to me too. I assume he had some living amendities there for late nights but assumed he had another house in MN.

Seems like it's being referred to in the news as his house more and more. I'd figure as much as he loved recording he spent most of his time there anyway, maybe he eventually just made it his full time residence (supposedly what people thought was his house may have been used as a guest house for people flying into town to see him.) ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk

I think I heard the Sheriff say this during the press conference--that Prince referred to Paisley Park as his main residence.
That's what he said so I guess that's where a lot of people heard that.
That's all I know. | |

What is the stand alone circle building at PP??

I personally think he did. He probably used those other homes as either guest house for maybe band members and their families, or maybe just to get away.

years ago there was an on-site apt (or suite of rooms anyway) available for use by people coming to PP to record, IIRC. It's likely he may have taken this over for private use at some point.

Paisley Park was originally not made with living quarters. Remember, it was a full fledged recording facility. REM recorded there, among many others, and Grumpy Old Men was filmed there. It was a business only. Overtime, as Prince started to hog up the space, and especially once both the Kiowa Trail and Galpin houses were torn down, he didn't have a home per se. He rented that 3121 mansion in L.A., but I think by that time it's reasonable to think that part of Paisley Park was converted to include living quarters. . According to a couple of different sites, including Celebrity House Pictures, he had a home right up from Paisley Park, on Dakota Ave. It seems rather 'normal' for Prince, so I'm not fully aware of the ownership of this, or if he stayed there. If you put this into Google Earth or Google Maps (or probably any Map app), it'll point you to the Dakota house: 44°51'29.31"N 93°31'28.12"W It's a 3bed/3bath, just over 2500 sq ft. . However.... the house was put up for sale in December 2015 for $365K. In March, it was lowered to $335. As of today, April 28, the listing was removed. If he still owned it, and if he was that seller, it might be off the market because of the Trust situation & probate right now. That info is from Zillow. . I was looking at the 7141 Galpin house. It's listed, at last estimate, around $1.5M. Almost 20 acre lot, 3 bedrooms, 5 baths, 3212 sq ft. It's damn rental value was over $5K a month! Now, as we all know, it's just a big piece of empty land. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I thought he had a staff working there as well. None of the news reports I've seen says who found him that terrible morning........

Every report I've read said staffers. I really dont think PP has a full staff all the time. There's no need. It's a private building, so I doubt anyone except the mailman even approaches the front door, or a delivery man. But I don't see a full maintenance and production staff around all the time. He has his friends producing and engineering records. I mean, maybe a cleaning crew a couple times a week or something? But not like in the 80s or even early 90s. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
