The night Prince played our wedding at Paisley Park....

Writing this is letting me process and share in the happiness that my wife and I will always treasure.

OUR WEDDING at Paisley Park

So early last year when I proposed to my then finance, the first thing she said was, "can we have a Prince themed" wedding. Of course we were looking into purple cupcakes, wedding venues, etc, it was getting crazy as the Nov wedding date was looming just a few months away. Then word came out that he was having the CD release party for HitNRun at Paisley Park, I knew this was meant to be, so we decided to elope there!!!

Our Reverend (devoted Prince fan as well) agreed to hop on a flight and head to Paisley with us. Her good friend and co-worker of Prince ( I wont mention who, but Van Jones has been talking about her), informed Prince of our plans, our greatest moment was that SAT morning, Sep 5th we got a text, "Prince is sleeping but knows what you are doing smile".

He had no issues as long as we kept it quiet and were asked to instead do it on Sun the 6th as the focus was on the CD release. Of course our only goal was to keep all this quiet and never make it grand. That night we enjoyed watching fDeluxe play, took the tour of his studio with Josh as our guide, Prince even called in on speakerphone joking with about 20 us in the room, Hanna, Ida, Donna were there as well as Damaris. That night LIV WARFIELD in all her glory performed, it was after midnight and Prince came out and played guitar for 90 seconds (last time I ever saw him play guitar).

The following morn on the 6th, my fiance and took pix at Lake Minnetonka, we went back to Paisley for the Sun night show, we found a nice couch by the large stage, the three of us sat there. We said our vows, exchanged our rings, and made it official. "7" and "Alphabet St" were the songs playing in the background. LIV came out again for another show so we said she was our singer for the night smile We told Josh and Hannah that we were newlyweds, we didn't even tell them what we did, just that we got married in Chanhassen.

Once the party ended, we left Paisley and celebrated by getting blueberry pancakes at the all night diner, PERKINS. We then headed home the next morn back to the Bay Area. So blessed and happy that we took the risk and did what we did.

What a wonderful story. touched

Awesome!

To post the photo, it needs to be uploaded (on PhotoBucket, or a photo-hosting site like that). You then type . At least, that's how I post personal photos.

But great story!

Congrats!

The State of Minnesota should recognize skinny-dipping together in Lake Minnetonka as a legally-binding marriage contract.
