NON authorised Merchandise, can we actually even get real stuff?

I was PISSED to see this article http://www.bustle.com/art...ate-legend

9 items that are all made by people unaffiliated with Prince just identifying that their etsy store can make a killing by stamping Prince on their work. I see the same on redbubble and other custom tshirt places so I contacted these Bustle people and asked if they could actually find legit merch or consider adding to the article that this stuff is bogus.
Even if the stores would donate X% of a purchase to one of Princes charities that would do I think.

in the meantime, where the hell can I order anything thats actually official?

I want a hoody, I want a symbol necklace, I want a damn purple flag for my car so I can display my allegiance like people do for their country when the world cup is on !!!!

it was interesting how those staff popped up with gifts for mourners at Paisley, maybe there are some people who still have the ability to launch licensed stuff with the money going to the estate or charity , on the off chance that someone is reading this, please make it happen!
its shitty to see the Banner about prince at the front of the Apollo theatre but then see hundreds of quickly made RIP Tshirts with Prince's face being sold right next to it.
feels particularly wrong considering how personally Prince took bootlegging - he earnt the right for people to buy the genuine article

While I understand what you're saying - how 'bogus' is that merch really? You're asking for 'legit merch' that Prince could have made available for you to purchase easily at any time during his career, and largely he chose not to do so. He could have licensed some charities to provide such items for fundraising purposes and chose not to do so.

(I'm not saying this as an attack on you wanting those items, I'm trying to think through the principles of what you're saying.)

hey no worries, you have a valid point, no clear path for Merch, I guess that in retrospect,if Prince knew this was going to happen he would have wanted money to go to furthering music at Paisley or his charities of choice. I wasn't familiar with how scarce merch is as I've never felt like seeking it before now.

I consider stuff less bogus if it contains original artwork, a drawing of Prince, an abstract piece with lyrics over the top.

if there is no path to anything then I will be a big hypocrite and order something so I can display my respects and start conversations with others missing the guy smile
