Prince's rumoured British girlfriend Delilah pays emotional tribute to singer: 'Every word makes my heart hurt' - Mirror Online

The British singer was discovered by Prince in 2012 and remained close to him for the rest of his life

Prince 's rumoured girlfriend - British singer Delilah has admitted she's still struggling with the shock death of the singer in an emotional post to Instagram.

The 24-year-old Hackney-born songstress, who first met the Purple Rain star in 2012 after he discovered her on YouTube, posted a screenshot from one of Prince's tweets on Saturday morning alongside a touching message where she vowed to "remember" to "keep that magic alive".

Admitting there was "still so much to say" but that she was continuing to "hurt," she wrote: "There is still so much I want to say but every word makes my heart hurt. I am trying to remember what he taught me, to be brave and keep that magic alive."

It comes just days after she appeared to pay tribute to the 57-year-old star, who passed away at his home in Minneapolis on April 21, in an emotionally charged poem about a "strange, enchanted boy".

Prince discovered the then 22-year-old on YouTube in 2012 and was so blown away by her talent that he invited her to support him on tour in Australia.

She said of the experience: “Prince called and said he was a fan of my work and invited me on tour. It was amazing.”

Describing the eccentric singer as “perfectly down to earth” she added: “We hung out together.

"He’s a lovely person and we get along.”

"We are great friends. I have a lot of love for him, a lot of time for him and vice versa, but music is the thing that links me to most people.

"He's amazing. I always sound like I'm gushing when I talk about him, but he is actually that amazing."

She added: "Once it gets past that point [of being starstruck], you're just equals. I like to think I have amazing friends all round, so he's just another incredible person to add to the bunch."

Prince died last week age just 57 at his Paisley Park mansion in Minneapolis.

The cause of his shock death is still under investigation with Police reportedly finding prescription painkillers in the singer's possession.

The music icon was last seen heading to Walgreen’s near his Paisley Park estate the night before he was found dead from a possible overdose.

According to TMZ, authorities went to the pharmacy on Thursday and served a search warrant before they spent several hours inside looking through records.

The website reports that he made four trips there in the week leading up to his death.

It comes amid reports the Raspberry Beret star was given prescription drugs from a number of doctors - including a “personal friend” - prior to his death, which is being looked into by investigators.

Investigators also want to find out if there was a doctor on board the plane which was forced to make an emergency landing five days before his body was found.

Police attending the scene told the detectives investigating his death the singer had opioid medication, thought to Percocet, in his possession when he was discovered.
