So glastonbury is officially a rumour...

in the online edition of Q magazine there is a bit about glastonbury and Prince not performing. Here it is for you:

With tickets going on sale on Monday 31 March, things hotting up for Glastonbury 2003 and Emily Eavis is already suitably excited, despite rumours about the Sunday night headliner being nothing more than hot air. "No, Prince isn't playing on Sunday," says Emily. "We were in talks with him and it nearly happened but in the end it didn't. It was all down to logistics." Nevertheless, even though the Purple One will not be gracing Piltdown, there's an even better treat in store, says Emily. "We have got a fantastic headliner on Sunday night but we can't announce who it is yet. But they're great."

This is from the horses mouth. kind of disappointed, but of course I'll go anyway! Glastonbury is an experience all should have!

Who? Fuckin' Tom Jones or someone? I doubt they'll top someone like Prince. I could be wrong though, it has happened before.

Kinda knew this would happen. It's a shame as it would have been interesting to see Prince perform in an evironment he did not have complete control over and to be able to compare him to other artists who were performing and (hopefully) see the non-fans dropping their jaws and then rushing out to buy some new Prince CDs (well I could hope)

sigh
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Yup - its confirmed in the NME as well, and I have submitted the article to the news section. Just waiting on approval. It is definitely a shame, but maybe next year, as it did "nearly" happen this year.

It's going to be Sonia. She'll win Reborn in the USA and then take the Sunday night slot at Glastonbury by storm with her rendition of Summer Lovin'. Ha Ha I write such nonsense!

Sadly, this quote is applicable to a wide variety of Princely situations. It seems as though something really cool almost happens several times each year. sigh Why don't these things ever work out? Bad karma? Unreasonable demands? Just how it goes?

Peace, David

I'll still be going to Glasto this summer too. But it would've been damn cool to see him play there.
