i've got one prince tat already.

under my anniversary i have "Forever In My Life"

But I've been after the symbol for years but the wife doesn't want me to, so yesterday I said..

"so about my prince tattoo, i think it's definately happeneing now"... she grinned as she knows how much i love/loved him.. so it's on.

I thought about doing it too....but considering that Prince was a JW (and so is my mom) I have decided not to. I know they dont believe in that and it would feel like disrespecting Prince's beliefs. But I definitely will get it on a pendant and other wearables.

Not trying to be disrespectful but I think that Prince's beliefs should not affect the decisions you make over your own body, if you like tattoos getting one would be a great tribute regardless of what he or others could think.

wow...I just called a friend to get his tattoo artist's name, as I am debating getting one as well. I've been completely closed to the idea of getting a tatt for the sake of getting one, but it seems very appropriate. thanks for confirming what I was tip-toeing around in my head.

When I was 13 I thought that when I was older I could get a cute Dove design tattooed, but as I got older I started changing my mind and got other stuff done instead, because I thought celebrity inspired tattoos were kind of pointless.

But now at almost 21, now that this has happened I completely understand that in my life, he wasn't just a celebrity or a musician.

He was a big inspiration, a hero and a loyal companion in though times of my life and his death feels

like the death of a close relative.

I'm thinking soon I'll get something inspired by him, not a symbol or a portrait but something way more personal.

Yes,I was thinking the same thing...my beliefs are my beleifs and it is my body...I am not not going to get a tattoo because of another ones beleifs no matter how much I love this man...that would be silly....I been wanting to get this for a long time as it would be my first and only tattoo and I can't think of anything or anyone I would rather have than my favorite musician and the love of my life since i was 12 yrs old...Im going for it baby👍

Aww...maybe the Symbol inside or overlapping a heart?

Or a bracelet tattoo... You might even be able to sneak a few other Princely charms into that design if tastefully done.

Not disrespectful at all. Everyone is free to do whatever they want to. As I stated my mom is a JW also and I would not hear the end of it. I don't currently have any tats because I don't like them but as I thought about doing it also I considered their beliefs. To repect THEIR beliefs on tats is MY decision. It's no different than those who stopped cursing or refrain from eating meat in his presence, just out of respect. I can remember him without marking up my body and you can do it my getting a tattoo.
