Why is "heart attack" not an option??

My grandfather died of a heart attack at age 57. No trauma, no warning, no nothing. Sudden and quick death. It was his first.

Why does every news outlet out there think of a drug OD or pain killers or even cancer? Some even contemplate murder for fuck's sake! Death of heart attack is one of the two most common causes of death all over the world. Why can't it have happened to our beloved Purple One? Am I missing something here?

Police have said they will "leave no stone unturned" to determine a cause of death. That covers all possible scenarios, including the one you outlined.

Because those types of events generate more hits and sell more papers.

Yeah...you don't know much about heart attacks, do you?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Not always. My Grandmother had a massive stroke and had no time to call. This, after she had just been to visit her GP who sent her home after she complained of chest pain. confused A heart specialist later said it would have killed anyone else.

I know a guy who was riding his motorcycle with his wife in one of those sidecars and he felt something was right, he pulled over, had a heart attack and died

It could have been a massive heart attack, as he said once on Leno he did not have a cell phone, also he was in an elevator he could have just collapsed, many things could have happened. Some people have had heart attacks and thought they had a flu or virus, John Mellencamp back in 1994 had one thought he had the flu.

My Grandmother died many years ago--she made it to age 86. I'm hanging in like everyone else. Glad to have this place to cone and vent. I hope you're doing all right. We'll all get through this together.

Because "heart attack" doesn't pull in the ratings like "drugs" do. Given his diet and the ages of his parents when they passed, doesn't seem super likely, but sure is a possibility given his age. I could see pulmonary embolism as a more likely culprit, or simply pneumonia.

It's possible. They said they are not releasing any information until the investigation is complete. So, honestly, we don't know what time he died. He could have been dead for hours when they got there. The person who called 911 said he was dead. We won't know until the medical examiner releases all the info. That's why all this speculation is so weird to me. People saying he had a terminal illness and stuff like that.

While possible, the fact that the ATL shows were cancelled, the diverted flight, the trip to Walgreens...suggest something else to me.

Well to put it quite simply People seem to always want to believe the worst unfortunately. It's not just with celebrities but with everyday people.

It could very well be a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot..especially if he had the flu or some other lung ailment and it definitely shouldnt be ruled out as the cause of death, because it can happen to anybody. Especially someone with his travel schedule who's been flying alot this year...

Right now, because no one knows what happened, everyone is speculating. Speculating about drugs sells stories, as others have said. We need to just wait to find out what happened instead of speculating. NO?

Actually, my dad died of a massive heart attack at age 49. Not saying this was what happened to Prince or that I even remotely know ANYTHING about what happened to Prince on that tragic morning last week. But with dad, my step mom told us he woke up complaining of heartburn, went to the bathroom to grab his Rolaids, and he fell to the floor and was dead. This was maybe 26 years ago when he died and my dad grew up in the 50's where it was as customary to smoke as it was to breathe. BUT, just saying, he was only 49 and he had not one second of time to call anybody for help. Anyway. Very very sad to lose my dad so young. And very very sad to lose Prince so young. sad

If it was a heart attack .......... I would think damage to the heart muscle would have been obvious during the autopsy......... as coroner does check out the internal organs.

^ Yeah that. I have a death certificate of my late husband, they found a plaque blocking his heart. Atherosclerotic infarction it states right on the paper. No toxicology needed for this. You can SEE a heart attack.

Now that's unless there waiting for toxicology to match heart problems for a full picture. So if it's a heart thing, they're waiting on All the info. In my opinion.

They are waiting on all the info. They have said this already.

"The public may not know what killed Prince for weeks or even months. Any information will not be released until the exam is complete and all results are obtained."

They are not releasing any information yet. They never said they needed the toxicology results to determine the cause of death.

They may already know but are just waiting for everything to come in before we know...if we truly ever find out the truth.

I also wonder why a stroke isn't an option,either.

I truly believe that Prince's death was quick either and embolism or a heart attack. I like to think it was this way because the other way of him just being in that elevator dying alone is too much for me to bear.
